After yesterday, one might speculate Mikaele. Gosi has been training well apparently, so could potentially see him or Finefuaki on the bench and Luki to spend some time in the middle, although there was no evidence of that yesterday from what I saw.

I would expect both Mikaele and Finefuaki to make the bench.

Just having a look at last year's numbers

    Cotter 54 mins
    Taumalolo 48 mins
    McLean 44 mins

    Neame 44 mins

= 190 mins if they follow that pattern again. Give or take 10-15 mins on any week for any player. Leaves ~50 mins for the rest

Granville's all over the place, maybe 15-30 when full strength, but quite a few 40-60 mins when injuries struck.

JTB and Mikaele (not in the system yet) are getting around, but might only be 20-30 min guys. Not sure if any of the EDG guys play middle too.

Hess played around 45 mins at FR after a midseason shift.

I think Cotter picked up a niggle Rd 1 last season, but played on. Might've played with illness other times, origin fatigue.. I remember being tempted a few times, but was always something. Would be good to get a few 60+ min games, but early on in the heat could be a problem.

JTB achilles injury, not back until mid season.

Cheers, definitely puts Mikaele higher in the pecking order. I thought I might've been overrating him since he was decent at the Tigs a few years ago. Hasn't had much of a run the last couple.

Mikaele - didn't just have a great game in this week's trial, was Cowboy's best the week before as well. Scored 60 in both trials.

Looks like the player we were promised when we all bought him at the Tigers.

    How about Granville ?

You won't take him when named on the bench at $250k?

Haha yeah might be right. I won't be going there, but feel Cotter is more of a lock in my team and some twitches for Taumalolo.

I was thinking I might downgrade Cotter if I need ~100k after TLT2, but with Hess going down last night, I reckon his stocks have risen enough to hold. Not much value if he only averages 46-48, but I'm hoping he can hit the 50 and be a set and forget MID with no byes until the second half of the season when I can upgrade.

Yeah fair shout. I've currently got Tupounuia, Murray, Tatola but really don't want Tupounuia. Might have to swap him and Murray for Cotter and someone

He'll probably be priced at 25-30 won't he? 330-400k roughly. Maybe 25 with a discount?

Yeah I'm currently sitting on Pap, Turbo and Kini. Kini makes me nervous, and I absolutely know Turbo will kill me again this season, but I just can't resist. Sucker for punishment

Played 1 game for 19 points last season. Should be locked in at $250k.

Yeah Sitili's been in and out of my team. Want him, but might be a bad idea until some injuries/suspensions strike. If he can stay injury free and play 60-80 every week, he'd be a weapon at that price.

Should be easier for Mikaele to get minutes than for Willison.

Mikaele - 2nd bench prop, with McLean and Lolo as the starting props. Flip side of Lolo minutes would be around 30-35, with Neame getting the remaining minutes from McLean and Granville getting the balance of Cotter's minutes.

Willison - 3rd bench mid, with Baker and Hetherington / Taupau ahead of him and Carrigan and Haas playing huge minutes. Probably gets the remainder of Haas minutes again this season - 15-20.

I think today is the day I make a team

It won’t have Mikaele, although I guess if he starts I’d be persuaded. Just atm I would trust Hughes role more for a coin goat mid. And ideally don’t want more than 1.

How many bench props have made good, quick money from 250k over the last five years, unless they graduated to being a starter? Ming did, even before he switched from bench. Alvaro from a slightly higher starting price. Any others? There aren't many. Some might slow burn but you really need 3 40+ scores in a row for this to come off.

    Stefano in 2021

I can’t be confident Mikaele will have a try to boost his score given he’s got 68 NRL games for 0 tries

There will likely be several bench props at $250k or thereabouts

I'd take Hughes, and probably Willison, over Mikaele. And I'm not starting with multiple low-minute bench guys
