Eisenhuth has peaked my interest, I was surprised he got the start at 13 ahead of JDB Shocked
I won't be jumping on him this week as I have other fires to put out, but he's definitely one to watch

Old news probably but looks like a fair few might have done some ‘late trades’ yesterday. I’ve jumped roughly 5,000-6,000 places with 3 points of updates

Lucy and Lawrie coming back in really muddies up the Dragons rotation.

I heard rumours that Whitehead might be out a bit longer, more like 5 or 6 weeks. I'll ride Hosking as long as I can and will use him as a stepping stone to a gun when the time comes, he should get a solid 50-60 points until then

That's a fairly good run he will get if 5-6 is accurate. Definitely going to keep him until then and as you say let him build then move to a gun.

Well I read some people who made some late changes also had their trades they made an hour before rolled back so the domino effect is everywhere.

I missed all the fun yesterday. Im 678 with 3 to play.

Good thing about guys like Chan, Hughes is they are cheap and not gonna lose cash this week and if they get the same role you can have another look at them. Preston started with 18 points last season.

Id be more worried if you chose a gun who didn't get the minutes and is going to lose a heap of cash and score a lot less points compared to other guns at a similar price.

Given Smithies looks like 70-80 minute lock and played really well in a win, I expect he keeps decent minutes in the MID rotation when Horse returns.

Hosking had a great game. Hard to see him holding a spot in the 13 when Captain Whitehead returns though. Needs a suspension for Young to get another run.

What do you classify as decent minutes for Smithies?

I don't doubt he keeps the 13 jersey and Horse will go to prop but when you have Horse, Tapine, Pap all fit seems very unlikely Ricky will leave Smithies out there for 70mins, one of those guys would have to lose significant minutes if so. It's not as if there are no options to spell Smithies at lock. I still reckon 55mins, maybe 60 tops.

His HIA may well have led to increased minutes in Rd1 too

I think 55-60 minutes is realistic. Can play a bit harder knowing he doesn't need to play out the whole game to increase PPM.

my 4 guns 1 was great (haas) 1 was ok (cleary) 1 was a shade under ok (grant) 1 was poor (ponga) but no problem with all their mins & roles so it's just be patient their day will come...if i had to sell 1 though it would be ponga nothing to do with him more so with the team form because if the team isn't going forward then ponga has no front foot ball where he can attack.

As a Suli owner, was a weird game because the score is disappointing but they clearly wanted to give him the ball.

Looking through my guys, it’s looking like Chan and Strange are my only fires and considering it’s round 1 giving them another chance seems perfectly fine at their price. Strange being in the CTRs gives him some extra security aswell.

Of the guys that went sub 35. Toops and Salmon probably deserve another go due to injury and being moved to CTR respectively. Hutch will hopefully have better games in the future, but the Dogs don’t look good so will see how the trade targets look. Levi with a try and only just getting to the 30s is mildly concerning. Hughes will plod his way to some money I’m sure.

Oh and Papenhuyzen will be fine, they don’t play the Panthers every week

Ponga will come good and is a final 17 player. Starting with him just means you paid full price. I did the same last season with Teddy

I have more sub 35 guys than you but much the same boat really.

I have all of the same guys as you and pretty much agree about all of what you've said.

Piakura is pretty self-explanatory with the HIA, I also have Kini and Fifita to worry about.

On Salmon, it's kind of hard to know how the Dogs intend on using him. As you say he got moved to centre, but he also got moved to the backrow 27 minutes in when Kikau went off for Mann who moved to lock. From memory he was scoring quite well in that first 27 minutes and was on about 18-20 iirc.

Haha forgot about Piakura. Yeah he’s a pretty straightforward hold if named to go again.

I think if Kikau doesn’t go off injured then he doesn’t get moved surely. Just an unfortunate series of events.

Looked standard mid game sub for Kikau, returned and played out the game after JAC was finally taken off at half time.

Oh righteo. Missed that part. Well I’m sure Salmon scores a little better at EDG than CTR

Question though of how many minutes he gets in a normal game.

Hopefully 60 minutes at lock, 20 minutes on the edge, but seems unlikely

Yeah definitely worth another look next week. If it’s still a problem then we move on
