Him and Langlands came from the same junior club, the long defunct Wollongong RLFC.

Also Barnes was Welsh, coming to Australia at 15 and learning RL at high school in the Gong. I assume he’d probably played a bit of Union before. Still time for Welshy Jr to follow in the footsteps!

Speaking of football and your 8-1-1 formation, Keith is the Uncle of a chap I coach juniors with over here.

The same lad was a top Rugby player himself and was hosted by Keith in a visit to Oz. When visiting his uncle said he had no idea just what a legend he was until that trip at age 18/19. His uncle took him to leichardt oval where he got to show him a whole stand of people sitting in Keith Barnes end.

Any restaurant or bar he went into, he was escorted to a private room or special section and met with the greatest respect… “Mr Barnes”.

Before most of our time for sure, but you gotta be good to get your name on a grandstand, may he rest in peace. Thanks for the heads up and tribute RG and be sure to drop my mate a note this morning Crying or Very sad

    Toops > Angus
    Rapana > Manu

If Teddy is out for any period of time then I guess it’s back to the Manu wagon. Plus I hate my CTRs

I don't need an extra half with Cleary / Hynes / Strange / Galvin and Angus will (hopefully) get back to somewhere between 45 - 55 average as a big minutes Edge.
But, Teddy is a worry and I can direct trade him to Ponga.

    Thoughts?
Thumbs up - keep Teddy and save a trade
Thumbs down - concussion risk, pick up Ponga while he is still (relatively) cheap.

Ah yes, that notoriously head injury free player, Kalyn Ponga

Half trolling, half serious in the past - but I’ve said a few times, is Robbo that good?

Squad had mad depth, rarely loses a player they don’t want to lose*, always has an immediate replacement lined up for that player anyway, basically only Broncos have more in-built advantage. Storm maybe as well, but as soon as Bellamy retires, that’s done

Despite that, Bradbury’d into the finals last year blaming injuries. But this season still look clunky.it shows how much winning a premiership gives you a lot of slack to be bang average. A coach with a similar record except no GF win would be feeling the heat IMO

*except that time Latrell suggested maybe he could see his market value and they withdrew their offer like a giant baby

I was having this argument with a few Roosters fans on the weekend, but they still love him. 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th in last four years with the Roosters' roster is a fail imo, but for everyone other than Penrith and Storm supporters, looks pretty good.

Does Lomax reverse contract now he’s moving off wing?

Wonder if it's related to keeping Lomax.

I reckon Sloan is purely passing the FB position based on his speed, I don think their is a FB in him.

Yep. Fully aware of Ponga's concussion risk, but he did go to the US for an extended break to see about getting it fixed.
Any of the fullbacks are liable to cop a concussion, problem is Teddy is 31 and has had 12 documented concussions.

CAPS can be taken as abuse. Suspect

No one has reached out to me from the club, Gallen hasn't spoken to me since I sparred him and put him into the ground, but my opinion is a yes, if we don't give him his shot he will go elsewhere and he looks very gud, looks like Val to boot. Send Ramien to the Dolphins.

Iro does look most promising, Chester also on the radar ($350k though), Schiller ($317k) an option, but do I want another Raider?

Payten also mentioned Vailea and Valemi as potential replacements. Chester filled in last time, but that was a late out and it may have been due to availability rather than pecking order.

Will find out about this time tomorrow either way

    Rapana update from Raiders

Jordan Rapana aggravated a pre-existing knee injury but was able to return to the field and complete the game. He’ll be assessed this week by medical staff.

I think Flegler is a gud chance to play whereas Kaufusi more unlikely. TLT.
