On the basis of no firm knowledge whatsoever, here's a theory:

Souths are a team with a severe culture problem. This is coming out in poor performances from senior players.

The culture problem stems from Cody and Latrell, who are close friends.

Should Cody be dropped, Latrell will cause the dressing room culture to worsen further.

But a message on performance needs to be sent to the team on the unacceptable nature of poor performance. This message is best done by dropping a senior player.

Cook is lower in dressing room influence than other senior players, and towards the end of his career. He can be more safely dropped, to send the message, than can Latrell, or Cody.

It also gives heightened pressure on Cody, by leaving him with fewer points to which deflect blame. This will support his dropping in a few more games, decreasing the blow back from their star player.

    tl;dr - Cook back R8, Cody dropped R9

    Thinking the same -.-

Rapana + Cotric out for me makes so much more sense. Cotric must be so far down Ricky's pecking order.

Chan and Talagi only get me two of these cheapies (Iro and Chevy would be my picks, though I'm as worried about those two as I am the two shit-kickers I'd be trading out).

Problem with all this is I'd miss Angus so probably need to sacrifice Levi. Would give me 17 for the first time in three weeks but no room for error.

I've also dropped Murray down to #14 to put him on notice and fire him up

With the influx of hias at the moment I am changing my loop strategy.

Instead of trying to switch between my two poorest scorers, I am putting an early player in the loop in case they cop an early hia then I can swap 18th man in.

Wish I had done this with Teddy last week.
Giving BSmith an out this round. Salmon 18th man.

Sorry to those who are struggling to field 17. That's been me too the last few weeks. Nice to have 18 green dots this round.

All that is probably true based on what we've seen so far this year, and would make a lot of sense, if the coach was 12 years old.

To each their own, but from where I'm seated Cook and Murray are the only two guys in that team who at least look like they give a shit each week. Maybe a couple of others, but making an example of one of these two doesn't make sense at all to a logical mind.

Very sad owner too, but at this stage all you can do is take his 25-29 points each week and trade him out when the other fires extinguish.

I'm sure Invisible People and Ghosts are extremely nice humans and entities, but I don't want them in my Fantasy team.

It seems wise to save my second trade for the year, but finding it difficult not to say no to a ticket aboard the Iro Express. Chan would be the one to make way.

6 red dots, going to trade out the 2 that have been dropped.

    Blaize and Chan out.

Looking at Iro and Jye, have a feeling he finds a way to stick around with other Souths players under-performing.

Hopefully back to a full squad next week, with the return of Cleary, Taylan, Galvin and Rapana.

You'll regret not having him if he holds the spot for the season.
