Paulie G seems to think Burbo will be planted on the right side and match up against RTS, But I was under the impression they'd keep burbo on his preferred side and put Koula on the right (where he has played before). Does anyone know this for sure?

I refuse to overthink which Bulldog to play. FWIW I think they all score around the same so the decision will be worth 3-4 points at the most. I'm sticking Hughes in a loop with Burbo, Stewart and Iro (which I will fuck up so Burbo and Hughes will play)

Last week Hughes would have scored around 35 without the try & associated stats. Salmon will score 30-35 and Hutch will score 30-35.

    I hope Hughes surprises me

MY loop is Dogs TBA/Burbo/Iro/Levi, so pretty similar. TBA is likely Hughes but considering Hutch as well

I don't reckon I saw a lot of Sharks and when I did Hatch isn't a player I recall. 1991 was when I reached "know every player in the comp" levels of fandom, got a RLW sub for my birthday, and he was done by then

    But I do remember Docking!

His career shows how different footy was before professionalism... Origin level FB and 3 years later out of the game altogether at 28. Not even an injury!

McIndoe also done before 30, captain-coaching bush footy. He had a few niggles, but in the modern era definitely would've bene on the fringes of a squad for 3-4 more years even if cooked.

Looks like Iro will be about 33% owned by end of the round. Almost more risky to avoid and then he keeps spot and makes load of cash

It's fine, Burbo can't miss any tackles because RTS doesn't get the ball anyway.

Looks like I have potential to put one at 18 also at this stage. I think at the moment I'm more confident with Hughes starting and Hutch at 18. I mean, what's Hutch going to be able to produce against Melbourne? With Ming out, Hughes should certainly see a few more minutes on the field.

I was wondering where you are going with this then I realized that you are trying to predict Burbo's MT count.

    That's where I'm going.

Not like previous weeks where Curran and Mann can play big minutes from the bench, and even if Curran reverts back to the bench late, surely Patolo is the "weekly 15 minute stint, replaced by Curran, never returns" guy

I am expecting Seyfarth to start on the edge, then kepoaoa comes on and he moves to the middle. Should get good minutes and decent scoring.

At full strength tigers bench seems to be Twal, Seyfarth, fainu and a half/hok. Seyfarth won't score so well then. Seems to be getting 30-40 minutes if no other team disruptions.

The interesting thing for me has been klemmer minutes have been really low. Bringing in Stefano this week. Seems set for 50-60+ minutes for 50-60+scoring as the new alpha mid in that pack.

Plus Liam Knight, who is average at best.

Anyone heard anything about how Harper keeps playing first grade, let alone keeping Talagi out of centre?

What's the bet Talagi comes in final team lists and Harper is cut?

Very interesting yeah, professionalism and changes over time
ABC tv Saturday avo football felt like I was watching the Sharks every weekend, I'm sure they got alot of those slots.
McIndoe would have been lined up against the flyer at the Sharks Glen Coleman many times I'm sure. Complete guess though. Didn't even realise Docking was gone by 28, it felt like he was their forever. It's just the strong and prominent memories of the game I guess.

Klemmer is looking like a 45 minute role (compared to 50 minutes last year).
I wouldn't read much into last weeks minutes, the Tigers ran out of substitutions due to HIA shuffles and Koroisau's injury, so were unable to bring Klem back for a second spell

I’m going to be controversial here and say Harper is not terrible. He is not great and is probably at best a decent backup outside back at NRL level but there are a few worse players getting a run most weeks.
I think he had a shocking half against Talakai and that has sullied his reputation permanently.

The reason he is keeping Talagi out is that playing a young inexperienced player at half you always have the edge forward there to cover for them (theoretically) and help them out. At Ctr they are more exposed defensively. It’s pretty rare for a coach to throw a raw Ctr into first grade without a fair few runs on the wing (or half) first.

Edit : and I’m not talking about someone like Iro who has a few reserve grade seasons under his belt I’m talking about kids a year or two out of school.

you should have traded out Hopgood in round 1. then you wouldnt have this problem Rip

My Iro trade is Talagi, so if Talagi somehow finds a way into the run on side I may just reverse the trade and run with Talagi seeing Iro plays after the Sharks
