Just go Sitili to IKat and hold the trade, you really aren't gaining much selling Cleary. At worst he misses round 7 and is back round 8 (which you surely knew was a possibility when he was initially injured).

Stick the captaincy on Carrigan or Hopgood if you own either of those guys.

It's the vague language being used around Cleary is giving me bad vibes. If it's another 3 weeks say, that would be 6 weeks of 1m sitting on the bench earning me no points. I'd rather burn a trade and earn 2-3 weeks of Hynes points, especially as I'm already ranked 50,000, can't keep playing it safe

I think Rudolf and BHU on the extended bench is enough to scare me off captaining McInnes. That and he might not have to make many tackles against this Bunnies side...

Captain Grant it is. A try assist would be nice this week.

He's missed two games. If he misses 2 more (this week bye and next week Tigers game), then that's 4. One of those he was going to miss anyway.

If you weren't prepared to hold for that long, then you should have sold 2 weeks ago. Holding Cleary won't win you fantasy but selling him can lose it for you.

Yeah in hindsight I probably should have sold him. If he's back round 9 (unlikely, but I've seen one report claiming 8-9), then that's 5 rounds. Then Origin 4 weeks later.

I realise this is all just me justifying it to myself, and that it's probably a bad move from an overall perspective, but my team is so far behind and I'm honestly more focused on H2H, that it feels worthwhile.

Appreciate the input though, and you have got me questioning it

If there was a high risk he could get re-injured I don’t think he would be playing. The guard could be as much for confidence as extra protection.

Many players coming back from injury have some form of strapping or protective guard. Don’t see how this is any different to a strapped knee after an ACL or a compression guard on a dodgy hammy.

Initially was a round 7 return which was a hold so it wasn’t that clear cut to sell him back then. Now things might have changed
