Apparently he feels he owes Souths and that’s why he will decide no origin. Mind you I’ve heard talk before I’ll believe it when I see it.

The other year when we were out of the 8 think he came back in middle of origin 2022 and we went on a run and made the prelim. He was in great form second half of 2022 so he can do it, it’s all about his attitude and desire what it comes down too.

Also talk around Bennett to Souths next 2 years and Sam to take over in 2027, talk they’re both behind the Dodd signing.

Would love to see that , hope its on the money.

100%. I have no idea how Weekes took control last night. Strange played equally as poorly but as much as Weekes is enticing, Ricky can't have a repeat of that play making.. surely?

Don't get cute on Weekes lads. Dominant half under 300k with a negative breakeven playing for a team that has shown willingness to have one player kick for 700 metres a week. Aside from playing Sasagi there they have no alternatives. Easiest 200k you will make all year

The alternative could be going to market. They have one game in the next three weeks, am willing to miss out on 40k or so of potential price rises to find out what their alternatives actually are by Round 11.

Agree and with 3 Raiders players as it is I certainly can't get him before the bye anyway.

If I trade Api what hooker is there to even bring in...

Already have Brailey. Would just run no cover but Brailey has rd12 bye.

JMK looks the most appealing but can't deal with that rd14 bye. Grant and Robson too expensive. Not that keen on Egan or B.Brailey.

Might just put the problem off until rd12 (hopefully).

Woolford will probably be around next week. But yes, hooker is a wasteland for value. Will probably stick with Cheese/Brailey as they cover all the byes between them, and even though Cheese is frustratingly up and down both in scores and minutes, he'll still have big plays and average in the low 40s which will kind of do, what with hooker being the new centre.

Just had a quick look at the Raiders forum and not that they're picking the team but the guys they most want to drop for next week seem to be Levi (all of them, for Woolford) and Weekes (most of them, for Cook, who I haven't heard of).

This is not the kind of endorsement I was expecting. Grrr

There are always alternatives when you lose 40 nil.

They could just as easily swap sides in the next week or two. In the trials Strange played as the dominant 7 on the right. I don't think I've seen anyone (in the media/players) talk about Weekes being a controlling half or having any of that in his game.

If things stay the same, Weekes is a no brainer, fo sho..

My initial thoughts were to wait until post-bye Raiders for Weekes, see how it settles. Get Armstrong instead maybe.

Helps I already have the trio of Kris, Strange, Stewart. “Helps”

I’m a bit constrained by positional need too. Need a MID because TerMay and Cheese suddenly looks very weak. Need a CTR for Raiders bye too

    Open

My eyes are open. Can’t recall exactly what my plans were, but I think they did involve a straight Levi to Brailey swap, then someone lost his effing marbles, got winded and scored in the teens, so that part of the plan has derailed. Will probably look over multiple scenarios where I can get Brailey and as much as it pains me, keep BS9 in my side.

Kris to Weekes probably the only thing I could do to not make Round 10 risky

The guy who previously did that job got a long term injury, and needed to be replaced.

Note that as long as the replacement gets long enough and are cheap enough they are good for fantasy - eg Braydon Trindall last year. Sean O'Sullivan when he first stepped in for Cleary at Penrith. There are other examples
