Only want to do 1 trade this week. Smithies on the block for:
It's either cashcow Armstrong, leaving him in the NPRs > leaves $550k ITB for Chan to Haas next week.
    OR
DPP sub-gun Garrick, adding to my Centre depth and cover for byes. > leaves $270k ITB and will need to double trade next week to get Haas.

Haas is a beast but with Origin coming up you may be best just holding out, hence the Garrick vote.

Can you do both and not bother getting Haas another week closer to origin?

Interested to hear that’s all more seem keen on Armstrong than Atkinson.

Also do you think Kris to Armstrong or Atkinson is worth it?

Also keen to hear opinions on the Garrick and Taylan May debate.

Consensus here seems to be Garrick preferred

Only slightly more expensive, doesn't play 13 but plays 16 + 19. More pressing bye due to breakeven (you can probably get Taylan cheaper in a couple of weeks*)

    * Sorry everyone, I think I just prompted a score of 84 this week from him

As operation ditch raiders players comes into effect, who is likely to be the better medium term hold - Seb Kris or Ethan Strange

I have 4 WFBs ahead of Kris, so whilst handy, the DPP isn't crucial. But will probably dump 1 this week or next, and keep the other one through to at least the 2nd big bye.

Strange has a clearer path to becoming a keeper IMO

Picks up a few kick metres, possible goal kicking? and he is a guy you can hold all year at centre. Kris needs a serious purple patch to get to that level without the base of playing in the halves

Last week everyone was scared off when Toohey said Fletcher Sharpe would have bene picked if fit. But Sharpe now going to come back through Flegg, and who knows what timeline, so Armstrong looking a little better for job security.

Also, the "wow no" quote is used so often these days its hard to know if anyone ever uses it non-sarcastically

I was looking at him this week as an option to replace Gutho...but i'll probably just get Garrick (BE and all that)

I have my eye on him as a potential replacement for Turbo through the SOO & Bye period if I decide to ditch Tommy....I'll look again in a few weeks and see how trades are tracking and how damaged my bye planning is.

On paper it doesn’t feel like there’s glaring problems, but in the last 5 rounds, I’ve only posted a round ranking under 50,000th once and last week was my worst round rank of the season, so something is clearly fucked here but I’ve got no idea what I’m doing.

Cheers, agree your team doesn't have any glaring holes. A few frustrating up and down scorers but that seeems to be the norm this year. Maybe a gun short of others hence the Hynes FOMO. I'd use Koro and Smithies as possible trade bait to get one gun and one cow. Might be worth keeping Talagi for a week to see what happens with Gutho out, and handy as a looper this week anyway.

    In saying that:

Not a fan of the 11 TB and a try plus 3 errors as a first up read (50). Could go really pear shaped. Gut call.

Atkinson did next to nothing albeit looked very safe and put out a 31. I really like the idea that he just slots in as a passenger next to Hynes and any attacking stats pop up = boom scores coming. Plus he may then have an interesting role if/when Hyneburger goes to origin.

I have made a couple bad calls, but some good ones also.

Yep, I'd like to say that its because I've got confidence he can turn it around but its as much about fielding 17 green dots and at least one of them not being Danny Levi.

Re Fuller's status, surely there'd be some uber competitive middle management types at other clubs deeply scrutinising other clubs' roster management - whether to cry foul or adopt a precedent they can use themselves.
