As I found out to my own detriment last year the time for making those moves is RD12/13.....my fringe keepers got selected to play origin and/or injured

e.g. a couple of rounds ago I had a full 13 for round 13 and needed only a couple for 14........this is not the case now. I'm not overly anxious about it because i knew it was coming.

As long as a Shitto is a green dot & still scratching out some money or you don't need numbers to play 17 or there is a 'can't miss it' opportunity.....my plan is to hold the motley collection of misfits I currently own through as close to the bye as possible.

Now, fullback is a very hard spot to cover during the byes.

Nicho still scored 62 against the Storm last year.

Held Cleary and traded in Hynes the first week Cleary was out. Squad balance has been crap but seem to have finally fixed it with a decent 18th man

Really need a few big games from Cleary to justify holding

This is basically my approach. I will only trade a player in for byes if they fit 1 of 3 categories

A) Keeper - This one is self explanatory
B) Cash cow - This one fits the purpose of freeing up cash to grab a few more guys from category A, as well as picking up a few handy points. If I have a few spare trades they might even be traded out again later, otherwise they hang around to provide depth in the run home
C) Mid range with upside - There is not a chance I'm trading in a 45 average player priced at 45. I'd rather gamble on someone like Matterson priced at 37 going to a 45-50 average and making some cash along the way. I think because these guys fall somewhere in the middle of category A and B they don't necessarily need to make 150k to be useful (partial cash out, good points in the bye period and possible cash gains)

He's probably my biggest POD inside the top 1000 at 9.6% ownership. I wouldn't mind a banner from him before rd13

Came across an active fantasy squad today that is just a Warriors team, they trade out long term injuries and trade in the replacements.

I kind of love it, it's still fantasy but not really because you are just copying life.

(They were 90k-ish overall)
