"Jeez is Fifita actually the smartest play?" ambiguous phrasing, but more commonly used as a positive I think.
Sorry, reading back I can understand how it would come across that way. Definitely was meaning the opposite lol.

MTB is right. If Fifita scores 75 in each of those 6 games, Fainu has to score 50 in his 9 games, unlikely. If Fifita scores a few 50s, it's a totally different ballgame. Interesting.

Another point of consideration is the small chance of a failed HIA (or category 1) in Origin 1
If that happens, Fifita will miss 5 games in a row, since round 15 is 10 days after Origin 1
13 - Origin + Bye
14 - HIA
15 - HIA
16 - Origin
17 - Bye
This same issue applies to all Origin players from the Titans, Manly and Souths, as they have byes in round 13 and 17. Manly's round 15 game is on the 11th day so they could potentially not miss that but who knows

75x2 for Captain, with Hynes not fully fit and Cleary out.

The other plus of having Fifita is that after origin, you have him in your team, so that is one extra keeper you have, and 1 trade you don't need to make.
Depending on scores over origin he may or may not be more affordable to trade in post R19
I think its reasonable to assume he'll be one of the highest averaging edges, so is it worth giving up a few points over the next 2 months if it helps you out longer term?

if Fifita scores 75 as your captain, I guess that means you won't lose too much ground on the Angus captainers

Fifita averages closer to 60 than 69 just for the record

There is a chance of any player missing multiple games due to HIA/injury. I wouldn't avoid a player as a trade in on the basis that they won't play for me if they get injured (exception is guys coming back from hammy injuries, I won't be rushing any of them into my team)

Apparently there were photos posted of Angus with badly bruised foot this week. May get an early rest.

Under Des is averaging 65, with most of those games off the bench.

Fifita is just about scoring 2 players worth of fantasy points at the moment, so 6 out of 10 games might not be as bad

That's still closer to 60 and his career average than 75. Coming into the origin period where he may get some reduced minutes, I'd think 6x60 for 360 points and maybe punches out a couple of tries for ~400 points.

I agree, but just something to consider.
I'm not buying Fifita because I have too many Origin players already (Grant, Hopgood, Carrigan, Angus, Nicho, Walsh), but if I didn't have them all, I probably would get him. Easily the number 1 edge and he'd be the best C option this week if Nicho's out

I remember so many Souths fans were glad to get rid of him. What changed?

Not getting an additional fine, isn't the same as not guilty on the field.

Not sure it was the ref, though he copped it from the crowd. Pretty sure it was just Adam Gee in the bunker saying it was late and forceful.

I kind of failed to consider the other Origin players I have but only have Hynes, Cotter, Angus and Patty so could swing it.
