I have Chester and am close to moving him this week having held Campbell this whole bloody time and 3 knights. Might even just play with 15

Who would you ditch out of

    JC
    Chester
    Brailey
    Koula
    KPP
    Armstrong

Surely you ditch Chester and JC rather than playing 15. Can't see the benefit to that.

Depends on who you need in R13 for numbers.

JC going to be really popular when he returns. Only has 1 more bye after R13 and they share it with Manly and Souths.

Chester probably not a final team player and misses 16 and 19. Likely trade out by R15 anyway.

Would expect Brailey is needed to cover the awkward HOK position, unless you have JMK.

Armstrong going great, has plenty of cash to make and scoring well. Could easily stay in the team as winger when Ponga returns.

KPP most likely benched when he returns and Frizell fully fit.

Without considering position, KPP or Chester the most likely to trade out.

Was about to reply but this sums up my thoughts too. Dump Chester, then could play with 16 or ditch KPP.

    It’s definitely strange.

Feels like based on usage last year he was being positioned for conversion to hooker, which is pretty common for halves… Croker, Cook, Walters, and so on. But then his usage in NSW Cup is almost entirely 5/8 this year. But then won’t play him 5/8 in first grade when they have an injury crisis there

It might be a case where there isn’t an aligned strategic direction at Parra between top grade and NSW Cup, but it’s weird

Still trying to find a Jolliffe replacement and no options I really love. iPap and Matto the others I'm looking at but both come with fairly obvious risks.

I own and bit underwhelmed last game. It would need to be for specific bye cover which is why I got in first place

If NRL.com wants to pay someone 150k to write fantasy content and edit other content, I’m available. This headline for the main story on the front page is a travesty: https://www.nrl.com/news/2024/05/24/principals-are-the-same-swifts-help-madge-prepare-for-origin/

Hard to see Matterson having more downside risk under a new coach and reasonable potential that he gets a much bigger role.

Journalists don't write their own headlines. So perhaps you want to apply for a job as a sub-editor rather than a content creator

And i think they are all redundant/overworked/paid peanuts these days, which is probably why such crap gets published so often

Just in case any surprise outs I think I'll play Cotter and stay on no trades until Piakura game which I'll need to trade to HOK to score 17 this week

Cheers lads. I’ve got 12 at this stage for rd 13 without Chester, a full side with him. Hadn’t really come close to ditching KPP as I’m holding out hope he gets his spot back and is a keeper but perhaps moving him on makes a lot of sense

My cousin did some work on creating the video integration capability on NRL.com a few years ago, apparently they don't want to pay anyone anything for any of the content Very Happy

haha that became obvious with a lot of the fantasy content being randos off the internet

Yeah they ditched a whole bunch of people (including the fantasy guys who were decent and also employed as journos) when COVID hit and haven't rehired...my cousin was employed by the NRL at the time but saw the writing on the wall and spun up his own company doing the same thing.

    I'll do both!

Fantasy content plus general sub-editing, suspect I've priced myself out of the market.

They did fix the headline a few mins after

So Paulie and that bloke who leans forward with his arms crossed all the time are doing this for exposure? Thought they'd get something out of it, even if nowhere near FT gig money

Chris Kennedy is Dragons media manager and Dom Brock a sub-editor at SMH Sport, so I feel both have fallen upwards from the glory days of official NRL Fantasy content

I think Paulie G (who is apparently a genuinely lovely bloke despite his fantasy advice) has a day job at the NRL as a producer so the fantasy content is a sideline.

Not sure about the other munters but I reckon Daniel Long is in it for the exposure.

Not sure what @Rabbits21 got paid for his cameos but I'd say it was heaps.
