Yeah, I would much rather be frustrated about a Fifita Origin selection than see me rocket backwards when he outpoints the next best captain by 25

Surprised Mikaele didn't suffer a facial fracture from that, seemed fine after the game.

It’s good we will know about the result of Origin 1 before anything is decidedL-Jimmy wrote:Yeah, I would much rather be frustrated about a Fifita Origin selection than see me rocket backwards when he outpoints the next best captain by 25

NRL Physio thinks this is where Matto got hurt
Ryan Matterson’s last on-field involvement in Round 10 - head clash then appears “wobbly” on his legs.
— NRL PHYSIO (@nrlphysio) June 2, 2024
Has now had 3 weeks off with persistent headaches & dizziness. Could be explained by mechanism here + Matterson’s history with prolonged concussion symptoms. pic.twitter.com/kuVrMkiBLT

So the stuff about matto being told he isnt wanted at the club and him refusing to play reserve grade was BS ? Why do people feel the need to just make shit up. What do you get out of it ?

Or because Matto got a chance to save face by blaming a headknock instead of innate unloveableness.

We all like to build our narrative. Matto's previous indiscretions fitted that narrative so lot of us were happy to go along with it.
As Tigs had pointed out that there was more to the story since mainstream media was not reporting on it. Maybe they deserve the kudos for that similarly to the way they treated Crichton last year.

I wasn't having a go at Tigs or anyone here, nor the mainstream media in this case.
Probably my own fault for reading posts on the eels forum (trying to find info...lol), where a couple of posters had said things like 'i've got a source close to the club re the not wanted / reserving to play cup' etc. So yeah, own fault. Its a wider issue in society though. Just spouting BS

Deciding if Shoes/Mikaele/Talagi are bigger priority outs than any raiders.

Reckon you can comfortably hold Shoes. Gus said they were just taking an opportunity to give him a rest, I figure he'll come out and play big minutes this week with a bye the following week. Talagi will depend on whether he gets a starting gig (if not, yeet) and not sure on Mikaele.Khany wrote:Deciding if Shoes/Mikaele/Talagi are bigger priority outs than any raiders.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2024 Part 46 - A dour affair
Come to think of it wasn't Matto's main beef with the Tigers that they weren't taking his concussion issues seriously?
He definitely didn't look great in that clip and tbh I sort of noticed that he looked groggy at the time (didn't notice the subsequent stumbles) and was surprised he didn't get a cat 1, but we can all easily get sucked into a narrative that someone is a difficult personality and is 'on the outer'.

Mikaele can definitely go now. Doesn’t play any of the big byes and probably won’t be needed in the 17 for any other round

might be a four trade week. (have 13 trades atm, 630k bank)
BYE: Crichton Weekes Strange Smithies Lemu
POST ORIGIN: Hynes Carrigan
Injured: Matto
Shitto: Mikaele
Wonder if matto will be named again this week.. though playing monday is not good for late trade option..

Chuck him in 14-17 and make a late Hands trade if he’s out again?my tv broke wrote:might be a four trade week. (have 13 trades atm, 630k bank)

I got a little Handsy last week. Will probably just have to make an early call on getting rid of Matto. Eels bye in 16 anyway.
At the stage now where bringing in anyone who isn't a final 17 player feels like a silly move.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2024 Part 46 - A dour affair
It’s 100% a 4 trade week for me
Bye: Angus, Plath, May, Weekes, Strange
Origin: Grant, Haas, Cotter
Injured: Matto
Shittos: Mikaele, Salmon, Hughes
Then also have Wishart and Faalogo whose roles will change when Papy is back. Think he said in an interview it’s likely to be 15/16 he returns
