If they preferred Koula over Hopoate as a fullback, he would already be playing there surely, not that I think he’d be dropped, far more likely it would be Talau dropped with Garrick shifting to the wing I would think

Yeah, I'm a bit lost in this discussion. I read the article as saying there's no real difference between workload for FB and CTR, so reading between the lines I assumed it was just saying Turbo would stick to FB as there's no reason not to?

But if he did go to CTR and the assumption was that Koula wouldn't be dropped so he'd go to FB, the glaring question is why wouldn't they be giving him a run there now, if it was any type of faint possibility?

Or is there a thought that they're nursing him back at CTR from his shoulder injury before putting him back at FB when he's fully fit? Even though, allegedly, the workload is not that different for a CTR, according to the story? If anything, I'd assume more tackles at CTR would be a lot harder on a shoulder?

Beat me to it, but I agree. If they wanted Koula at FB, he'd be playing there now, unless I'm missing something obvious.

I think they would prefer Koula and Trbo in the team, to Trbo and Hopoate, and if Trbo isn't playing fullback, they'll adjust positions to suit

They'll probably just dump Talau and send Garrick to wing. Probably makes the team the strongest

In theory, I agree 100%. But if that were the case, wouldn't it be logical to be getting Koula used to playing FB now?

In such an irritating season of Fantasy, this Koula thing is probably still the most annoying part of it for me. All green lights seemed ready to go, he misses a week and suddenly the dream is over. It's not even like Hopoate's been that sensational that he has to keep his spot and keep Koula at bay. Don't get me wrong, he's been solid/serviceable, but I thought Koula was first choice FB replacement for a reason.

Anyway, I'm trading him out this week which means he'll be FB next week and for the rest of the season, if you want the inside scoop.

NRL physio did mention on the podcast that there is a slightly lower average rate of injury in CTR to FB. From memory it was a difference of around 10% (can't remember the metric being referenced - but it was ~41 vs ~45 respectively). They also mentioned that it may (or may not) be a greater difference for specifically hamstring injuries in that FB requires more lateral movement, but he hadn't fully analysed the data to make a specific comment on it.

I've got Galvin to Watson pencilled in but that's more of a team balance thing and making room to bring Cleary/Hynes back in post origin.
