2017 for example QLD had Corey Allan, Phillip Sami, Shibasaki, Sailor, Brimson, Croft, Palasia, Grant, Horsburgh, Mitch Dunn, Hipgrave, and Carrigan. Few really good rep players + some decent first grade careers. NSW had Meaney, Lumelume, Ramien, Curtis Scott, Garrick, Jai Field, Lawrie, Reece Robson, Radley, Murray, NButcher, Jack Murchie, Guler, Stone, Magoulias

    2022 had good crop
NSW - Alamoti, Bostock, Weaver, Pezet, Matamua, Keeley, Mooney, Cole, Couchman have debuted
QLD - Jojo Fifita, Mozer, Howarth, Jye Gray, Te Kura, Finefuiaki

    2023 had

It’s fair to say there are players eligible but won’t get picked because they are regular first graders already eg Galvin was never going to be selected this year, or Hopoate?

Semi-related trivia question - who were the last two high school players to make Australia schoolboys twice ie in year 11 and year 12?

Have found a left field option as Kelma replacement - Tof Sipley.

With Jurbo, Aloiai, Lodge and Paseka out, they are having to play Bullemor as the other starting prop.

Averages 50 in 40+ minutes at prop.

Finished last season on fire, if he can return to anything at all close to that. Started the season at $622k, now $389k.

Had scores of 52 and 44 when getting decent minutes earlier in the season. Should be able to go back to that. Has the fitness for it, was playing 55 and 57 minutes in reserve grade earlier this season.

I can't lie, you might to be onto something with minutes available in the Manly pack. Seibold must have a reason for Sipley only averaging 28 minutes a game this season though. What about Nathan Brown who's cheaper and seemingly better job security?

If Aloiai was out for more than just this week then maybe. Jurbo out is only relevant for this week as well, you're going to need to use him more than just this week. Rd17 bye can't be helpful either?

Rather than his minutes in reserve grade being a positive I think it's far more negative that he was dropped to reserve grade to begin with, Seibold must not be the biggest fan.

Jurbo misses 19 as well. Mostly need a player that can score well in rounds 16 and 19.

If I don't get a Tiger (slim pickings, the alternative is Pole), or a Dolphin (alternative is K Brom), then any player I get will miss one or more of 16,17 or 19, leaving me short a player.

Would rather get a player that can go big, given minutes, in the rounds that I need them in my team.

Both Paseka (1-2 months) and Lodge (R24) are long term outs, Jurbo is out for both 16 and 19. Huge minutes available and he is the obvious guy to be taking 50+ minutes to fill them, and has a PPM of 1. Bullemor has only ever started 1 game at prop and their bench this week is - Aitasi (average 24 minutes off the bench), Navale (1st ever game), Condon (is really an EDG like Bullemor, averages 22 minutes off the bench).

Paseka finished last season with scores of 62, 57, 79, 60. Will be his chance to show the coach he can be the big minute gun prop again, so has the potential upside I am looking for, given this chance, at a bargain price.

Could be a solid punt. Better than Porter anyway.

Sipley is more expensive than Bullemor. The logic doesnt even make sense. Bullemor is the big dawg this week. Just buy bullemor if you have to get one of the two

One of them has a history of producing gun scores, given minutes, and it isn't Bullemor.
