The stock market analogy is half fair - buying high and low is a key part of Fantasy strategy, but stocks are in play every week and you don't get paid dividends for every week you own them.
Players you essentially get dividends (as points) only when they play, the less they play the less points you earn.
So as it stands the Storm have 10 games left. Harry misses this one. I'm tipping large scale resting for R26 or 27, so that's imo another, and 50-50 on R20.
So possibly plays 7 or 8 out of 10 remaining.
But then I also think he plays 60 minutes in 2 or 3 of those, so to me, he's got potentially only 5 games as an 80-minute Hooker - is that worth me playing a man short this week?, maybe not.
There's truth in that selling now is like selling at a floor, but it also might be that it's actually just selling at his points value going forward.
Not hugely different to buying Aitken the last few weeks at likely a ceiling price - sometimes in fantasy we just have to take the value hit for the sake of overall points

I fully agree with everything you are saying and everyones' individual situation calls for different valuations on certain moves.
My comment comes from the perspective of trying to develop a heuristic approach to my decision making in this game. Therefore was probably shortsighted of me to announce that the reasons that Grant is likely a buy for me would apply to others; that Grant is a universal hold or buy.
I appreciate it when my rules of thumb get challenged. Helps me understand the nuances of when to adhere to and when to adjust my heuristic framework.
I’m in a similar boat with Wighton. Thinking of going to Sharpe and just hoping he goes nuts for the next three weeksmy tv broke wrote:Down to 15 and hynes C underwelming, feels like a trade is necessary (have 5).
Carrigan to JHughes
Or
Wighton to Marzhew
Are on the table. Leaning latter atm, because it feels silly to trade out a keeper. Wighton feels expendable. All it really achieves is an extra number this week.
Hughes has obviously been hot for fantasy. Havent seen a storm game in weeks though, so no idea if hes a 60s guy now or just slips back to regular programming.
Do eels love to jam in? Could big greggy get a double today? Im building into it
I could double trade to get to 17 but one of the ins would have to be a mid/edg, so cant do both of the above
