Yeah Shadowsabre and myself have jumped on DCE this week, hoping he can punch out a few big scoresMilchcow wrote:
Anyone tempted by a DCE trade in for Haas?
Not a bad run home. Have Cleary, Galvin, Fogarty, Brown so might be halves overload.
He should outscore Carrigan, given the bye
Other options, Olakau'atu, Hudson Young, also Harry Grant who I think will finish the year well

Took out the minor premiership in my H2H cash league :-) Now for the run home for the big prizes
McInnes is going to be the Haas replacement for me, should play 80 starting at hooker (already have Yeo & Kolo as my other Mids)
Then also likely upgrading my boy Blaize to Fog.
2 trades left after that to cover injuries etc. and hopefully a week off next week too.

Going Issako May to Cherry McInnes.
Feels good. Real good.
Maybe part of the season turns out roses.
Hoping for a biggun.

I would go Soro to Ola but I’m reluctant to do it in case Curran aggravates his injury further meaning he is the one I need to trade out over Soro.

Haas to DCE for me.
Depending on Curran news may also swap him to Carrigan

- Spoiler:
- Well here we are Game Day is just about upon us once again this week as we play on Thursday Night back at home at Accor for the first time in 7 weeks back on our home turf as we take on the ladder leading Melbourne Storm. I will be heading out there with Dad. The Storm coming off a rare loss down at their home ground last week and there is no secret the Storm are our biggest bogey side and they’ll be extremely fired up this week and ready to make amends. Just look at their side on paper and their spine it is deadly and I expect them to come out breathing fire. For us well we as we know are coming off 2 losses in a row against Canberra and Cronulla. We haven’t been too good the last few weeks but losing more troops to injury has not helped. At times last week we showed we could hang in there against the Sharks the boys were in the fight. Now we need to come into this game afresh the good news is Cody being cleared to play that’s a boost. When you look at our backline it’s hard to see how we match it with the Storm out wide and where our points come from. Missing Tatola, Arrow and Havili in the pack are big losses that hurt us. It is good to get Shaq back though he will give it all he has. Yes our backs are against the wall we can’t make the 8 but we still have lots to play for we need to focus on finishing the season as best we can Wayne will no doubt be watching for who he wants to keep for the future. We are playing for pride as well and and need to keep putting in effort and showing that resilience we have showed the last 12 weeks having won 6 of those games. No doubt Cookie and Tom want to finish off strongly as well having been such stalwarts for us. Now tomorrow night could be dire but I’ll never give up on Souths!
Now I know it’s a Thursday Night but if you can make it out there please do let’s not abandon our boys during these harder times let’s stick with our boys and be there for them. Looking at the Storm they have a solid pack with workhorses who do their thing and then the spine of Pap, Munster, J. Hughes and Grant feed off the back of that. We can not fall asleep in defence otherwise they’ll catch us out. They are clinical in so many areas as expected being up the top of the ladder they will hurt you we just need to try limit that damage as best as we can. For us it’s about going out there and digging in make the Storm earn it. Come to the game ready to work hard in all areas complete our sets get in the grind hit ‘em in defence and force them into error. Cmon Souths show some enthusiasm and the right attitude. I’m looking forward to getting out there and supporting all our boys and our young lads in Jye Gray, Myers, Moale playing game 50 cmon mate GO DAVEY!!!! I’m hoping Cody can get Murray some quality ball as well to create something or put him into a hole.
Ok not long til the players come out here onto Accor Stadium this Thursday Night. With our Mighty South Sydney Rabbitohs taking on the might of the ladder leading Melbourne Storm. Let’s make sure we give them a massive run for their money tonight. Great to see so much red and green here in the stands tonight let’s make sure everyone at home watching knows this is South Sydney home turf and a South Sydney home game. Show those colours clap ya hands and lets get that South Sydney chant up and going around Accor Stadium here tonight. Lets make plenty of noise to get our boys across that line tonight.
Ok as we look down the tunnel at the Rabbitohs home ground we can see the visitors making their way down the tunnel……. Rabbitohs members Rabbitohs supporters please give a warm South Sydney welcome to the Melbourne Storm…………..

Becoming less sure about Sorensen to Ola. It would be an upgrade no doubt but if Sorensen plays 80 again from here on and scores like he had been before this week he averages 48 playing over 70mins. So would definitely be unnecessary if he could manage that the rest of the way.
Not sure what the deal was with the reduced minutes last week though, would hate for it to happen again and get priced out of the move next week.
Itchy trade fingers and limited options playing their part in the thinking too.

I've locked it in, but dont have the halves depth you have with only Cleary and Galvin my out and out halves.
Think there's big upside there and could easily match any of the big scorers for the run home, apart from maybe Cleary

i don't get the dce popularity with brooks stealing his points...manly always are hot after origin & dce usually hauled in previous seasons when he was the dominant half & everything went through him but this year dce & brooks are sharing & i can't see dce going large.

When Brailey was named at half vs Storm, he was still the dummy half, with McInnes play 80min as a ball playing forward. Atkinson doing most the kicking.

If I'm trading Haas out, I want a replacement that can score 60+.
2 most likely to do that IMO are Carrigan and DCE and Carrigan still has a bye.
DCE on a hot streak and with a decent schedule

Thanks for the responses. I expected everyone would encourage trading to upgrade my 17, but the advice is to hold. My problem is that I have 4 guys from 17-20 all around $450k, and all averaging around 40. I have to play 1 of those in 17 each week (and no red dots this week to loop). I thought there would be merit in using 2 trades to try to get an extra 15-20 points per week from position 17 at the expense of reducing depth at position 20 and running a bit thin on trades. The idea of trading in a red dot was to facilitate looping. Knights seem to have the most Sunday games from here onwards so make good candidates to loop.
The collective wisdom on here means I need to reconsider.

I would think most of us have 2 or 3 of those guys around the 450k mark. Hit and miss I know, but last week my 19-21 outscored their counterparts that I gave the jersey to (because they are ungrateful flogs).
Last weekend was actually pretty horrendous for injuries and HIA's to lesser owned players and previously owned players. It could have been so much worse from a Fantasy perspective. I have to spend a trade getting rid of Haas, leaving me 3. I also lost Fermor and have Crangus and Ted on the Bye. I have to loop Sipley and Fainu this week, I have to play Hands and Talagi and Strange. I would rather take that chance then get to Round 26 with the Tigers bye and potential restings and whatever injuries we have accumulated by then.
Generally most years at this stage it's a save trades or go all out scenario and hope for the best. This year however everything augers to the last couple of Rounds being absolutely disastrous for a lot of Fantasy teams.
