Re: The Gaming Thread
Not much of a gamer (only play 3 or 4 games a year, tops) and FarCry4 was great fun. Got 100% on that bad boy - some of those haunted masks are hard to find. If you get good at using the hunter bow and arrow it becomes insanely easy, running around doing silent 1-hit-kill on everyone. Also get good return from animals.
Almost at 100% on the latest Batman game, will knock it over when I get home next and be looking for something new.

So if you get good at the bow does it beat a sniper rifle or not? Might google it because I enjoyed the bows on SkyRim but obviously don't have a choice on that.
I actually only play 3 or 4 games a year myself. I can go 3 or months without picking up the controller, but once I get into something like Skyrim it consumes me. Will knock FarCry4 off hopefully in time for Fallout4

I bought a PS4 last year with some league winnings from Fantasy. Never touched it until a few months ago when I started playing Far Cry 4. I love it, but don't get the chance to play it very often. On about 95% at present.

Same. Fifa mainly but will pick up Madden 16 and NBA2k16 once the shine of the new Fifa wears off.
Will play the odd rpg and shooter games but the only game that regularly gets played besides sports is GTA when I just want to chill and tear shit up

Re: The Gaming Thread
I wish I had a gaming console, but just dropped that on a shirt, chinos and a sports coat + tailoring, so don't like my chances of using the old hair, wax, an & out fit excuse to get one.

I reckon the bow beats the sniper... partly because it feels a lot more satisfying with the complete silence and also because if you miss, it doesnt prick up everybodies ears like a sniper bullet hitting the concrete does. Doesnt have the range, obviously, but you can still be far enough away to cause trouble without being in danger yourself - and its also useable short range, the sniper isnt really. You cant use it all the time but I find it the best for clearing out a base.
If you dont have the element of surprise, its not great - the buzzsaw and a grenade launcher fix that.

Go hunting! Just spend like an hour hunting animals and upgrade all your bags. If you have the maximum amount of health needles and land mines on you, bases are a breeze. Set up land mines and run around the outside picking cunts off with the bow.
Or, grab one of the helicopter thingys and rain grenades down onto them from the air. Not subtle but it does the trick.

Those helicopter thingys are awesome! First time I hated it, then I was forced to use it for a supply mission and realised I could sit 100 metres above a heap of red coats and rain grenades like you said, as well picking them off with the Skorpion.

They are a pain in the dick around the mountains - the maximum altitude you can fly to seems to change based on your height above ground level and that changes dramatically on the steep sections so your copter will suddenly plunge from the sky if you hit a steep downslope.
I crashed like that once, somehow survived, got bitten by a snake, legged it and got mauled to death by an honey badger. Good times.

Re: The Gaming Thread
With all the FarCry love in here, what do we think of the new installment?
No firearms or vehicles could make things um... interesting. Good thing my favourite weapon was the hunting bow.
The game is set in 10,000 BC, in the Stone Age, a time where humans began to use stones to create tools for their daily life, where survival is a daily challenge as tribes come into conflict with one another and nature.[1] Players take on the role of a hunter named Takkar (Elias Toufexis),[2] who is stranded in Oros—a valley that was once covered in ice—with no weapons or resources after his hunting party is ambushed.[3] Takkar will eventually rise to power, and lead his own tribe.[4]
