    Alrighty then, I'm keeping Mannering.

    ROUND 8 TRADES
    IN John Asiata $128,000
    OUT Russell Packer $271,000
    IN Ryan Matterson $167,000
    OUT Ashley Taylor $303,000

    Matterson is Hastings' handcuff (a concept much more prevalent in fantasy NFL), so I start whichever one starts for the Roosters. Go into next week with a kitty of $285k with a view to upgrading Mitchell and/or Evans.

    Although bugger, now I see the late mail is that Jaifiti is going to be rested! That stuffs things.

    They're not going to drop Hasting to the bench. Matterson had one good game and while Hastings kicking game and decision making leaves a bit to be desired he was never meant to be the main playmaker this year. As a supporting half to Pearce he won't have that pressure on him plus he's the Roosters goal-kicker.
    If Wackos Whispers or something brings it up then I might start to believe it but I can say with a lot of certainty there is no chance Hastings will be benched

    I think that a lot of people have been pretty harsh on Hastings and forgets this too. He was never meant to be the primary playmaker. If Peace didn't fuck up, the kid could have been playing the position he thought he was going to play, and Roosters probably wouldn't be in the position that they are in.

    With this and Mataora out, could mean good minutes and another chance in the run on side for Bhana. I might play him over Blaw or Fergs.

    Some late mail on the Sea Eagles;

    Sea Eagles: Coach Trent Barrett is certain to make massive changes after including injured players in a totally ridiculous team named on Tuesday. Brett Stewart (hamstring, round 11) and Tom Trobjevic (ankle, round 15) are out. Recruit Matthew Wright is expected to come into the side. Apisai Koroisau (ribs) is in doubt, while Lewis Brown (knee), Brayden Wiliame (leg), Tom Symonds (leg) and Steve Matai (shoulder) are all aiming to be fit.

    Funny when they haven't even trained yet.

    Bloke from the Telly having a bob each way.

    Knights: Young playmakers Brock Lamb and Will Pearsall are locked in a battle for the five-eighth spot vacated by Jarrod Mullen (hamstring). Lamb is expected to get the nod. Sam Mataora (suspension) is out. Jack Stockwell and Mickey Paea were named out of the 17, but expect them to come in, with Jacob Saifiti to be rested. However, Saifiti may yet earn a reprieve, with Jeremy Smith (knee) pulling up sore after training this week, but expected to play.

    From fox sports about tonight;

    Late Mail:Despite concerns over Adam Reynolds’ jaw, the halfback will play on Thursday. George Burgess. is considered a week-to-week prospect thanks to a groin and hip issue but is expected to play. North Sydney backrower Patrice Siolo is also in line to make his club debut. Foxsports.com.au understands Michael Maguire is considering moving Jason Clark from his bench in order to get some quality game time with the Bears and promote 22-year-old Siolo to the first grade side.

    Siolo made his NRL debut back in 2014 for Cronulla against North Queensland before moving to the Rabbitohs. Siolo has only played the one NRL game to date but did feature for the Rabbitohs in the charity shield. The New Zealand product works in the Learning Centre at Rugby League Central when he’s not training as part of the Rabbitohs’ part-time squad.

    For the Tigers, Tim Grant is out with a knee injury, with Michael Chee-Kam replacing him in the squad on the bench. Sauasoe Sue moves to prop and Dene Halatau will start at lock.

    Who would you vc be? And you'd have to make sure Smith is your AE. Look out for the likes of Taylor, Safiti and the whole Manly side.

    If you mean to loophole into Hodgson, then I don't think so. It will take the C off Cam, place him as reserve, and put Hodgson into the starting position without the C on him. This is how I understand it anyway.

    I am looking at loopholing Surgess or Ted tonight into Cam.
