The NZ game is almost finished, OZ game up next, the Fiji. So should be not much more than 20 minutes away one would think.

Re: Hayne Quits NFL
OK Game 1 for Hayne:
Hayne got 4 minutes - came on when Fiji were down 24 - 5.
Touched the ball once, ran then passed (nothing special), did quite well on D on one occasion to disrupt an English try scoring opportunity. But overall nothing really to judge him on. Interesting he got 4 min though.

http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/sevens/80249067/jarryd-hayne-makes-debut-for-fiji-in-shock-sevens-loss-to-england
Decent summary below - I've removed the opinion from the story so as to focus on Hayne actual infield actions:
Hayne was first introduced onto the field with four minutes remaining in Fiji's shock pool loss to England. He touched the ball once as the final hooter sounded, threw a pass to a team mate and then ran a terrible support line which led to an England turnover.
In the second game, Hayne again came off the bench with 4:42 left on the clock and had more of an impact. Hayne immediately won a turnover at the first ruck he was involved with. It led to a try up the other end for Fiji.
In the final pool match against Hayne's native Australia, he didn't get his introduction until there were about 30 seconds left. He gave away a penalty in his time on the field."

To be honest I didn't get to see him live. My baby started crying just before Fiji's first game - a double blow cause I was gonna bet on Fiji to win that one -13.5.... (and you know how I was going with my betting that night lol).
I heard he got very few minutes again and I saw two highlights (1) a good try saving ankle tap and (2) a knock-on in the tackle inside his own 22.
Consensus seems to be that he got so few minutes during the tournament that it was pretty much impossible to draw any conclusions about him, which I think was to be expected.
It's pretty clear that the coach doesn't want him (he has said many things in public that suggest that is the case), and even though you carry 12 guys in a tournament team its very common to lose a player or two meaning your bench players become more and more significant (you can't bring in replacement players to ur squad mid-tournament), if Ryan's hand is forced by the Fijian Military then it could be a massive risk for Fiji's chances of a first ever gold medal at the Olympics.
The reality is Hayne can not be picked based on his 7s abilities at this stage, he should have been playing the entire season of the 7s circuit. It will absolutely be to the detriment of Fiji's chances if Ryan is forced to pick him and he goes to Rio. It's a real shame IMO because I would love to see Fiji win gold at Rio. As much as I love Rugby in NZ we need a rocket up us for the way we have managed our Rio campaign (to be honest I don't think we will win anyway), so if we don't win there's no-one Id want to win more than Fiji. Trouble is there are several teams with great chances. Scotland winning this round at what must have been at least 100:1 speaks to how competitive 7s is now.
Interesting times!

Re: Hayne Quits NFL
Here's a link to a story about Hayne and Rio
http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/sevens/80266153/jarryd-hayne-cools-on-prospects-of-making-rio-olympics-as-fiji-win-the-world-series
"Jarryd Hayne's Olympic ambition still burns brightly after the weekend's London Sevens tournament, but he faces a near-impossible task to force his way into Fiji's 12-man Rio squad.
On current form, and having had barely 15 minutes of combined match time across six Sevens games at Twickenham, he won't be picked."
"Jarryd Hayne's ability to tolerate Fiji's gruelling training regime in a short timeframe is "a serious question," according to coach Ben Ryan."
"We had a very light week this week ... when we're running up 100-metre sand dunes, when these guys are the fittest rugby players Fiji has ever had and they're still throwing up after sessions, his lactate's going to be going into overdrive.
"Whether he'll be able to tolerate that in a short timeframe is a serious question."
Hayne had a huge amount to do to compete, Ryan said.
"This isn't just a random side, this is the best side in the world in the last two years. A Fijian side that plays a very high-tempo, high-risk game that requires enormous amounts of skill and he has that, and enormous amounts of fitness, and he hasn't got that at the moment."
"Our cupboard is not just deep, it's absolutely littered with fantastic talent," Ryan said.

Not unless he tries out for their track team or something!! Nah, its a 12 man squad, thats it. Don think you can even have guys on standby due to injury once the tournament begins!

Just in case the news hasn't spread, Hayne got cut from the Fiji 7s side. Not surprising but it was certainly a very odd situation.

Because he is not registered to an NRL team, he can sign with anyone at any time. he is free game for any team with enough money to get him and if he wants to go there.

Talk of him (over here in NZ) taking a big pay cheque and heading to a Japanese club rugby side too.
Who knows what Hayne's next "dream" is

Hayne to sign 2 year deal with titans
Wow
huge coup for the titans, if hayne finds form, elegey comes back strong and the rest perform like they have this year, they're gonna look really strong next year.
can only help from commercial perspective too and has to get their fans pretty excited
for parra, wow, nothing is going to plan for them, i'll be interested to see how Hayne is treated by parra fans when he plays them, they've still loved him since leaving but you've gotta think they feel stung here

Re: Hayne Quits NFL
Parra fans will turn on him that fast.
Its certainly out of the blue. I dont buy they "used DCE money to get him" bit. They used a lot of that money for guys like tyrone roberts, nathan peats, ash taylor will be needing one of the biggest upgrades in history, konrad hurrell and im sure im forgetting a few more.
Something is just off when he goes to a club that has been struggling big fucking time on and off the field pretty much since they came into the league. The NRL owned Titans buy the biggest marketing tool in the league in hayne in order to boost crowds and keep the titans alive.
With how they have gone this year, if true, Hayne will turn them from a bottom of the 8 team to a top 4 team IMO. Peats, Elgey, Taylor, Hayne - thats a fucking brilliant spine.
I kinda hope its not true coz I want him to go back to parra. But if it is true, I guess ill be making the hour or so long trip down the coast a fair bit more.

All those upgrades were covered by Myles money. DCE & Mortimer's money will cover Hayne.
As for Parra supporters they're already burning up social media

Re: Hayne Quits NFL
Yeah I agree it'd be nice to see him at Parra, but by the same token I can't blame him. After everything that's gone on at Parra, his fans would expect him to be the saviour to all their problems, and apparently their history for third party deals isn't great. Hayne could pretty much get any third party deal he wants legitimately, so why risk his reputation by getting his name dragged through the mud due to poor administration.

Re: Hayne Quits NFL
yeah i've seen a few experts mention that dip.
it could be a while before any player trusts parra in regards to 3rd party deals which could put alot of pressure on their cap if they have sign players using cap money alone
