Is there even talk of B.Morris coming back yet? If and when he does, and if and when Holland gets dropped, that would be the time to trade him. My point is that this week isn't that time.
Round 16, 25th June - 2 weeks away.
I completely agree now is not the time to trade Holland but I can also completely understanding having a think about what trades you might be making in 2 weeks.

Yep right here. My FRF was Woods, Fifita and Evans. 2RF was Merrin, Cartwright and Surgess with Nathan Green as a reserve. I did have Whitehead in mind but I thought until I see what he scores like I'll take the chance on Cartwright as the mid-priced player to go to keeper level.
Probably could of ditched Woods earlier and moved Surgess up to FRF but oh well I decided to persist with the plodder instead.

Hey Mulvy. Rabbit seems to be the only one who is really trying to talk you out of your plan, although some others (including me) can see that Rabbit is making some valid points.
Rabbit is only giving his personal opinion, and it just happens to differ from your personal opinion. IMO your plan is logical and valid, and only hindsight will show if it's you or Rabbit who is correct.
However, my advice would be to hold off for a week or so (as Rabbit has suggested) for the following reasons:
1/ BJ DOESN'T play in R15 and he might miss R18 (there are rumours that he is being considered for Origin)
2/ Hurrell MIGHTN'T play in R15 and he DOESN'T play in R18
3/ Holland is playing this week (against my hapless Dragons, so he MIGHT score well) and he MIGHT play in R18
If I was you, I would save yourself the two trades this week, and revisit this scenario again next week. Hope that helps mate.

This all makes sense. I'm wanting to trade Holland too cause I have BJ and Aitken but will probably wait too. I like the idea of trading him for Hurrell, but we don't know if he's even playing and haven't seen him on the field, it's a big gamble this far in. I'd use the money to upgrade Claw, but have decided to sit and watch this week and use the trades next week. If Hurrell comes in this week, does well and keeps his spot, then yeah that trade could be on the cards for next week, I wouldn't do it yet.

I agree we should be looking ahead, but my response was in regards to trading Hurrell in for him this week. I brought Holland in as a cow, like everyone else, with an intention to upgrade him at some point. But he has surprised me. If by some chance Hasler leaves him as centre because he's earned his spot and kicks goals, he could well end up a keeper as reserve back. It isn't out of the question that Rona or Perrett makes way. Maybe Des gets the shits with Hoppa's anti-Sunday stance? Either way, he is an easy cash out whenever it needs to be done. Just not this week unless things are desperate.

Rabbit is also the guy who bought Nathan Merritt at 200k to hold and play for 2 bye rounds at FB and said that trading to Loko at basement price (and for the following weeks still refused to trade in) was a bad idea. Merrit fell to bottom price while Loko went to over 300k. Even in hindsight argued he did the right thing

I agree Rabbit.
Holland is in my VSDT team and as far as I'm concerned he is a keeper for R18 and a set and forget until at least then.
However, there are a lot of people talking about trading Holland out (including Sangster, I think) so not everyone agrees with us, which is ok because we all have different opinions.
