It's the equivalent of Blake Ferguson shutting down Corey Oates or something.

Wow just checked my team for the first time today and Leilua went down to 21. The fact I've slipped less than 200 places with that numpty as captain astounds me. Could've been on 826 instead of 772 but hey like I said I don't regret the risk moreso I just can't believe Newcastle is the team to shut the guy down and give him his worst score.

Thoughts chaps?
How badly do you want/need those 50 extra points in Round 18? Let that influence your decision.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 43
I am not sure I'd bring Friend in either LB... Just seems to have gone off the boil in recent weeks. He may come back to it but I'd look at someone like Lichaa or Peats. Lichaa because the Bulldogs are flying (albeit under the radar a little), and Peats as with N. Friend announcing his retirement he seems due to get less minutes and Peats is into the starting role.
Alternatively, give Friend a week or so (unless of course you're looking at him for a points grab in the bye round) as he'll still come down a fair whack yet.

Peats is a great shout Mr Mearcats. 50+ in base stats is definitely worth picking up for under 400k

Hahaha, for you and me both SI!!! I've been here 2 days and although I wouldn't say I'm experiencing culture shock, it's definitely a change, that's for sure!

The two unknowns with Peats are of course his minutes with Friend lurking until the end of the year and his injuries. He seems to have a habit of getting those 2-4 week ones which are annoying as hell for us fantasy coaches.
Lichaa obviously plays the bye round (Doggies have the bye rd. 19 tho) which is handy and although his stats may not look brilliant, the dogs are playing well and hitting their straps, he's a proven performer and over the last 3 rounds has averaged 55.
Just food for thought mate, not trying to sway you either way, just giving ya all the info. I could go further (regarding upcoming matches etc if you like) but that'd make for one hell of a long message!

I ditched my second Hooker to bring in Ryan James. Other than Cam Smith there are no consistently amazing Hookers so why not go with a 2RF or FRF

Macca could be an option at a touch over 300k but doesn't play next round

If Friend keeps getting 80 minutes again he is the top option to partner Smith for the run in, especially with his dropping price

What will make him get 80 minutes again though?

Not a terrible idea GC, the problem with that logic is that if Smith gets injured you're forced to make a trade. The same discussion was covered at the start of the season when people were discussing playing a rookie alongside Smith. There were arguments both for and against and with the benefit of hindsight we see that Parcell (one of the names discussed) has gone on to beyond what anyone expected of him.
While I had no problem advocating playing a rookie alongside a gun (I personally didn't) I wouldn't really suggest not having a backup hooker at this time of the season. Even if that backup is someone like McInnes, I personally would feel a hell of a lot more comfortable knowing I have that cover there.

I'm waiting to see how Korisau will be used when Parcell is back.Mighty Fishes wrote:Macca could be an option at a touch over 300k but doesn't play next rounding
The news that Brett Stewart is out gives me hope, once again, that Tom Turbo will play fullback, leaving Walker and Lyon in the centres, Korisau at 5/8 and Parcell as 80 minute hooker.
However, if Parcell loses minutes, I'm looking at McCullough.

P.S. I'm definitely not suggesting anyone buys McInnes. I'm of the opinion that you either have 2 guns or a gun and a rookie. Certainly not someone that volatile at that expense.

He needs to be getting 80 though. And the Roosters need to show some spine. The biggest problem with the Roosters is that due to injuries and Robinson being in unfamiliar territory, they are constantly making so many changes. Anybody introduced onto the bench to take minutes off him means he takes a huge hit in points and at his price I just cannot justify that.
Certainly not saying that he's not the second best guy out there, just need Robbo to be playing him the way he was at the start of the year instead of fucking with things.

So they've missed 2 tackle breaks for Aitken on that first big run already. Nice.

Dumb move. What do you do if Bellamy rests Smith for a game or two?
