I did that this week but still tossing up whether I'll keep it ...Figuring out the value of a trade at this stage in the game - their averages may be close to similar for the rest of the comp but I'm chasing some extra's in the bye rounds and hoping for the best

Honestly...if I had enough trades left I'd downgrade Parcell to a NPR and stack my forwards with reliable ones who are always playing unless injured/suspended

Thanks SI, I definitely see your point. Yes my four reserves could easily be 2 of FRFs and 2 of 2RFS this year. That's where the big scores are this year.

Neillo that was my thinking, the prices are closer then they've ever been, so it costs 1 trade and 50k to get Friend but he does play round 18 and did play 80minutes last week (for not a lot of reward). I guess the only reason I'd do it is for round 18 points and hoping they're big points.

Edit: Who sells Hindsight again? I would like to buy some.

I ditched Parcell for someone else 2 weeks ago, felt like a champ after that weekend but after the weekend just gone I feel like a chump again. Too embarrassed to say whom to, but I'm sure you could guess easy enough

Did it last week. I knew I should have held off but whatever. I'd be fine with doing it this week though.

If it was up to Smith he would back-up...if it was up to the coach he would not
Hopefully they'll find middle ground with Smith playing reduced minutes

I have cashed out Parcell to Chudleigh.

    1) because of his name  Very Happy ;
    2) because he should get the one game this weekend and then completely fuck right the fuck off out of there for the rest of the year.

Even if he only gets 5 points, I had to downgrade someone somewhere so it may as well be Parcell who we are unsure about and is having recurrent issues with the same injury.

With Manly not locking out till the last game I will not make the trade until Monday night just in case he doesn't play (could still make it as he is purely a cash out who may score a few points as a bonus).  Other reason is I have Hughes who I am still hoping against hope will get a run Monday night.

Just on this, Hughes signing with the Storm may be why he is out of favour now but I also read a post on FB the other day saying he was potentially injured.  Now it was only 1 post and have not read anything else.  Has anyone else heard anything?  Blackhawks having a bye this weekend doesn't help with finding out.

I feel like Friend is due for another 100. His last 5 game average is under 49 something, but he played the 80 last week so fingers crossed. And it was only 5 rounds ago the gap between Parcell and Friend was 150k or more.

Hey I brought Munster in a week before he scored 99 so heres to some more good timing Very Happy

(But lets not mention the fact he hasn't played since)

It's a worry, and against the Knights a possibility he doesn't play. Good point but I get till Monday night to sell Parcell if I go the cash out route with him so get to see if Cam is playing first. If he's rested then I have an anxious hour to make up my mind Shocked . I wonder if the Knights giving the Raiders an allmighty scare might force Bellamy's hand to at least start him and rest him later if they are flogging them?

Actually questioning my Parcell cash out allready! I have 830k in the bank after cashing out Holland/Parcell/Mooper this week. So if I went to another gunnish hooker instead of The Chudmeister then I still have 500k in the kitty. Thing is though that compounds my issues of having waaaay too much cash tied up in NPR's at the end of the year.

Always go with two gun hookers.
You don't want to be forced into a dud-trade or make two trades to trade a hooker out and then the same one back in. when your only hooker breaks down/gets suspended for a week.

Lol Yeah, it almost felt like a brag post but the struggle is real Very Happy . I have a shit load of average players for bye cover and not enough guns. I could easily get caught with the likes of Mau/Barba/Mitchell outside my 18 with nearly a million between them wasting away.

Normally I would agree mate, have always been a 2 hooker kind of guy Very Happy . I am actually almost considering Lichaa as a POD now and nearly 80k cheaper than Friend. I will have 4 trades left after Round 19 if Smith gets injured, but hardly enough to be comfortable.

Sounds like we have similar problems SI.  This is the first year I have really put any time in to bye planning, and it is backfiring spectacularly.  I currently have a team with quite good depth, but very few guns (and a lot of oxygen thieves) and now f*ck-all trades to fix the situation.  And somehow, thanks to some untimely injuries and people getting dropped I actually ended up fielding limited numbers during the big byes and lost ground on the field.

Next year I am reverting back to getting the best team possible as quick as possible and taking the hit during the byes, that is what has worked best for me in the past. It's too early to be limping to the finish line. Dead Horse

Oh shit, they are playing the Knights? Probably won't play then. But don't the Knights have an okay record against the Storm? I remember I think 2014 when the Knights came back to win from 30-0 with a Gidley conversion to win the game after full time.

I'm really interested to see your team SI if you feel like sharing.

Cordner to play tomorrow night. I would imagine SST to lock, Lui to bench and Smith out. Unless they keep Smith, move SKD to the wing, move Aubs to Centre and Manu drops out? That could halt a few plans, lucky they are the first game.

Before cash outs this week, I have:

    Smith, Parcell
    Graham, Trbojevic, Mooper, Grant
Merrin, Surgess, Mannering, Taylor, Mau, Talakai
    Hunt, Johnson, Cleary, Hughes
    Maubbs, Aitken, Holland, Copley
    Tedesco, Barba, Radradra, Mitchell, Gutherson

    8 trades and 65k.

Current plan is to cash out Parcell/Mooper/Holland this week and Grant to Fifita next week, leaving 4 trades and 500k.  I would love to upgrade one of those average Centres/WFB's to Munster but don't want to get down to 3 trades with 6 rounds left.  If I don't though I end up with a shit tonne of cash sitting both in my bank and my NPR's.

Now just looking at this now (so thanks for asking Very Happy  ) I would be more balanced if I did go Parcell to a Friend or Lichaa, as I wouldn't have to choose between Guthersen/Latrell/Copley/Mau as a 17th man and wouldn't have ridiculous amounts of money in the bank. In saying that, would still have a lot of cash in NPR's but I should probably take that as a positive from the depth POV.

There are only 6 spots left in the eliminator! (cool and calm as fuck blue instead of supposedly angry red)
