Lol  Yeah, it almost felt like a brag post but the struggle is real Very Happy .  I have a shit load of average players for bye cover and not enough guns.  I could easily get caught with the likes of Mau/Barba/Mitchell outside my 18 with nearly a million between them wasting away.

Sounds like we have similar problems SI.  This is the first year I have really put any time in to bye planning, and it is backfiring spectacularly.  I currently have a team with quite good depth, but very few guns (and a lot of oxygen thieves) and now f*ck-all trades to fix the situation.  And somehow, thanks to some untimely injuries and people getting dropped I actually ended up fielding limited numbers during the big byes and lost ground on the field.

Next year I am reverting back to getting the best team possible as quick as possible and taking the hit during the byes, that is what has worked best for me in the past. It's too early to be limping to the finish line. Dead Horse

Just had a looksee at your team, yeah, a few more trades to kill off those spots and cash grab would be nice. Bye planning has worked for me over the last few years and I should continue to make up decent ground over the next 2 rounds. I have had a reasonable run with injuries though.

Before cash outs this week, I have:

    Hunt, Johnson, Cleary, Hughes
    Maubbs, Aitken, Holland, Copley
    Tedesco, Barba, Radradra, Mitchell, Gutherson

    8 trades and 65k.

Current plan is to cash out Parcell/Mooper/Holland this week and Grant to Fifita next week, leaving 4 trades and 500k.  I would love to upgrade one of those average Centres/WFB's to Munster but don't want to get down to 3 trades with 6 rounds left.  If I don't though I end up with a shit tonne of cash sitting both in my bank and my NPR's.

Now just looking at this now (so thanks for asking Very Happy  ) I would be more balanced if I did go Parcell to a Friend or Lichaa, as I wouldn't have to choose between Guthersen/Latrell/Copley/Mau as a 17th man and wouldn't have ridiculous amounts of money in the bank.  In saying that, would still have a lot of cash in NPR's but I should probably take that as a positive from the depth POV.

I do like the 3 cashout idea looking at your team, it's well balanced IMO, but I'd cashout out Holland and Mooper and do the hooker upgrade, then it's set and forget up there. The Grant to Fifita trade is money also and I think you'd still have enough to do that easily. I can see what you are saying after that though with trades, but even if you cashout the 3 this week, you are still a trade down and would have to rely on Mitchell, Guth or someone of that nature. Just leave them there if you have to and they can become cover. You can even afford to do another upgrade to get Munster also with those extra guys sitting on the pine. If you run out of trades, you should still be able to field a decent 17 for the rest of the season.

Should win this round and move up the ladder, only to get knocked back in Round 19 as I won't have a full 17

This last sentence, yeah, very true. And with 4 props in the 17 and Mau floating around as an NPR I would need a shit tonne of bad luck to run out of options up there as well. I think I will do the Parcell to Friend/Lichaa then. It certainly avoids dramas in a 2 player position and means I put the cash to good use. Should still have enough to get both Fifita and Munster in.

I think a lot of teams are going to struggle in 19, moreso then we think now that is.

I'm having a look at him Revs, but he will probably lose the kicking points soon with SJ able to rest up that "cork" with the bye. I don't trust the Warriors to be competitive in a month's time either going on their track record. In saying that, probably a safer bet than Lichaa minutes wise?

I went Parcell to Friend. Contemplated all the same things as you SI and decided it wasn't worth the risk. I'm floating right around the 1000th mark in the rankings and having to worry about trading a hooker in later rounds to help me stay in the top 1000 was not worth it. Sounds like you're just as cashed up as me (if not moreso) so I didn't feel like upgrading Parcell would stop me getting Fifita et al in after Origin

SI, would you consider going Parcell to Friend this round. And maybe also cash Mooper out who isn't playing this week.

Next week do the Fifita trade.

Then your looking at round 20 with 5 trades still in the bag. Slow and steady lol

You are entered into the eliminator if you are in one of the following leagues -

    NRL Fantasy Fanatics L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, L6 or L7.
    NRL Fantasy Fanatics Overall Group

You are NOT entered into the eliminator if you are in the league "(Ex-Sportal) NRL Fantasy Fanatics". If you are only in the league "(Ex-Sportal) NRL Fantasy Fanatics" and wish to be included in the eliminator you need to contact me by PM ASAP as there are only 6 spots left! (You StuDogg101 ARE in the eliminator as you are in the league "NRL Fantasy Fanatics L1".

Hey guys hoping you guys can see something beneficial that I can't.

    Team for Rd18:

    Smith, Parcell
    Graham, Tolman, JWH, Brom
Cartwright, Whitehead, Taylor, Thompson, Mannering, Surgess
    Cleary, Milf, JLJ, Feeney
    Holland, Gutherson, Lolohea, Aitken
    Semi, Barba, Mitchell, Munster, Scott

    Have planned to go

    Holland > Manu
    Parcell > Friend
    Milf > Pearce

Have 10 trades and 6k before any movement, any help would be appreciated thanks

Yeah, it doesn't all have to happen this round but I have a strict bye planning strategy and don't want to veer from it so if I am cashing Holland out I am doing it this round to get any points the cash out can gain me. I may consider holding Holland if Maubbs gets fucked around to centre tomorrow night though. Either way I have too much average depth and not enough guns.

So I am really struggling with what to do this week. This week I have traded friz to Merrin and hunt to Pearce. I don't have any confidence that friz will get good mins with that back row and until Broncs start going better hunt will continue to have lower scores. This leaves me with 16 for the round. I am wondering if it is better to use an extra trade to get 17 players this week or save for upcoming weeks.

    Current team

    Hodgson parcell
    Graham Fifita surgess tolman
James mannering Merrin whitehead Taylor Asiata
    Pearce Cleary Norman Hughes
    Bj aitken Copley talakai
    Munster barba Mitchell Gutherson French

Pretty good team, bear in mind I think you need to find a way to get cam smith in next round at the latest.

16 players for this round is like double what a lot of people have and upto 8 times better then one person around here. So if trades are in the single digits then no need to blow it. Except if it's a cash out trade useful toward funding someone like cam smith next week. In that case it's almost essential.
