which is absolutely insane, given we've played maybe 4-5 really good games all year

    How so?

    Nah I get it now.

After you lose to the Broncos you will still be in the Top 4 going into the last round....but not guaranteed a Top 4 finish.

    Good point.

Alternatively, maybe he's always been a gun player (like the time he won a GF) and you are just an utterly piss poor judge of Rugby League talent.....

I'm presently leaning towards the alternative.

Ive never once said he wasnt a good player. He is a great player, he is prob the 3rd best club halfback.
He just mentally has not been up to the standard of state of origin. Its been proven like 15 times.

His GF win was based largely of SBW killing it that year and - Bomb it from 40 out for toupu and RTS, and him playing well at club level.

Only halfback to ever win a GF on the back of 1 repeat set all year. JWH kicked for more repeat sets.

Makes no sense and also doesn't give QLD the credit they are due.

Pearce has never had a howler in SOO from all the matches I have seen and his poor record in SOO should be correctly attributed to QLD being the better team as opposed to 1 bloke's influence or lack thereof (in your opinion).

The one year the Blues got their shit together recently, Trent Hodkinson was your half.....yep that's right, Trent Hodkinson.
He's probably as shocked as we all are.

Does that mean he is 'mentally up to the standard of SOO' whereas Pearce isn't??
Of course not you battling simpleton.

He has had heaps of shockers at origin level you utter muppet
The fact that his team lost so many close games is a testament to the very proven fact that he has not been up to origin level so far through out his career.
Hodkinson did something that Pearce could never do at origin level - and that is score the points to win a close game.
Pearce would have had a 3 on 1 overlap and would have grubbered it into Thiadays legs and then got belted for his troubles (That actually happened).

The forwards keep you in the game, the halves win you the game, and the backs decide by how much.

haha if thats true that great.

Their premiership was based off RTS/Mini and toupu getting it bombed to them from anywhere inside the 40.
    SBW killing it.
    Cordner's emergence.
JWH & Sam Moa having career years.

And mitch pearce playing his role well - so good on him.
