Really Bren? Which I picture you drafting it looks a lot more like Andre from The League.

Re: Ultimate Footy
Ok, so can I defend my Rapa pick up against all you pricks now that I'm back from my meeting! If L2 had of drafted similar to L1 my choice might have actually worked out how I'd hoped. The idea behind it was it was my attempt to dictate the draft priorities instead of being reactive to everything in last place.
I reasoned that Teddy and Hayne are both loved bigly in these parts but that IMO Rapa will at least match them though most likely better them. By picking up Rapa I figured someone might jump on Hayne and Teddy (I left them there as I didn't think Rapa would have the same effect) not long after and trigger a rush on WFB as I don't think its a very deep pool. Unfortunately L2 suck and Hayne was picked up in 5.4 (36), with Teddy 3.6 (22)

After reading this, all I can say is I hope you find it easier making friends in L3

idiot. That plan might of worked had you selected the best WFB there
Rapa is a good pick a few rounds later .....he averaged 41 after scoring 20 tries lol

Yeah, the whole reactive/pro-active thing tends to come in a couple of long cycles I've found personally. Sometimes you are constantly behind the 8-ball.

If we can't find a new member to join L3 and if nobody else wants to do it I will put my hand up. The way I see it I will be relegated to L2 next year so if I finish in the top 2 in L3 I'll be promoted so it will all work out for the best.multiple.scoregasms wrote:Looks like Beepbeep won't be joining L3 as he still hasn't opened my PM

Re: Ultimate Footy
As I said I'm pretty comfortable with Rapa outscoring Teddy and probably Hayne for the season, but I know others don't think so. The thinking was therefore that Teddy and Hayne would be picked up fairly early anyway (as they were by the L1 guys) and when everyone took a look at what was left it looked even shallower with Rapa out of the pool. Taking Hayne or Teddy myself wouldn't have that effect AND i don't personally think they are better anyway...Welshy wrote:

Re: Ultimate Footy
Yeah, its like the 2nd or possibly 3rd time from only 3 drafts I've ever played that I've been last in the order, so I'm happy to try something. I don't mind taking a risk early on when I'm in a league with Welshy.SI wrote:

While I get what you were trying to do and do think it's a valid and successful strategy in drafts I think you are coping the bulk of the flack for it is because it was just too early. Maybe if you had've then doubled down even with Teddy or Hayne you might have got some to bite and trigger a little run but it would still have been a few rounds later than you would've preferred

I understand that regard and it's your prerogative to believe Rapana is better, what I'm saying is last year he wasn't (didn't avg more than Teddy) and he scored alot more tries and the attacking points you get with them

Probably shouldn't have shared strategy in that case

Re: Ultimate Footy
Teddy averaged a huge 2.1 points more than Rapa over the entire season, yet Rapa scored 1001 points to Teddy's 744. In head to head I'll take the guy who's going to average a fraction less but play in a heap more games for me thanks.Welshy wrote:
