Filth, drive four more hours north and you have a much nicer place than Brownsville. Don't go back there, youre better than that!
We talking Cairns, Port Douglas? Almost went up there but decided on Airlie beach instead due to it being a shorter drive. Got plans to head back to Airlie next year already but would love to get up to Port Douglas at some stage!

Just while we're on beaches.
This is the beach that is 5 minutes walk from my house, Perth starts to get amazing this time of year.

FUCK NO.
To be honest I don't go down to this part of the beach much, unless I'm going for a drink or out for dinner.
I go to between here and Peasholm dog beach, there's a laneway between the two that you have to walk down and there's never anyone there. Take the dog down so she can run up the sand dunes while I go for a swim. Can't wait for summer!

I lived in Townsville for 6 years while I was at uni, always liked Townsville and thought it a great place to live while I was there. But soon enough I felt the city-boy itch to live somewhere with more than 3 shopping centres and now I am back in Brissy, hating on the Broncos just like the old times B)

Yeah Cairns mate. Just that little town rivalry (and Cairns really IS nicer than Townsville, seriously.)filthridden wrote:

Port Douglas is ok, Nice resorts, nice drive with some ok beaches on the way but its very touristy (which is saying something when you consider how Cairns is). If you liked that area and ever head back be sure to yell out on here, I'm happy to give you advice and I think there are actually a few lads from FNQ on here so they would do the same.

Yeah, there's a legit MASSIVE rivalry between Cairns and Townsville.

Maybe that's why my mate drove us to Airlie beach instead of Cairns

Maybe not now then, back in the 80's/90's when I was there, definitely. It was bloods and crips stuff!Random wrote:There is a rivalry with Cairns? Shit missed that.

I think Townsville might have accepted their inferiority. Only way I could see it ending really.ASIO wrote:

I remember attending a Cowboys game once when the ground announcer thanked all the fans from NQ who had to travel to attend the game. He then went and listed off pretty much every town except Cairns. Still hurts me to this day . Good thing Raiders thumped them
