Also to answer your question Honeysett. DCE will be kicking goal, 70% success rate. Not the best but certainly not the worst.

I'm not reading the write ups lads or offering team critiques and answering my own team queries until I get into work, looks like a lot of content which means a lot of time I can spend skiving at my desk and making my day go quicker!

No I'm not, he plays 60min with jrey replacing him for 20. I just haven't written that up yet. Also I was laughing at Farah because I've never liked him as a player. Not just this year. He's my favourite NSW player picked as a qlder.Random wrote:Also just noticed that Archer is playing Jake Granville for the 80 minutes. Hard to be explosive when you have to pace yourself over the course of the game.

Have a fair and honest evaluation/devaluation on a teams RL ability not their ability to be a decent human
I'm not sure but I think this may have been in part to my comment regarding my own team selection? If so then no need to be concerned as I was referring to actual player ability and not their off field persona / idiotic behavior. So even though Greg Bird is a clown off the field, on the field he is a great player.

Also if anyone is wondering why I started Parker over Taumalolo it is because unlike the NZ coach Mal Meninga would bring on Taumalolo for Parker after the first 15-20 minutes of each half when the opposition defence is starting to get tired so he can wreak havoc. Same goes for Klemmer and NAS. Bring 3 big bodies on at once to bash and crash through the opposition!

Re: Draft Game 2016 V2
I have a question for anyone who quoted try assist stats in the writeups... why?
Everyone knows how terrible and subjective that stat is, in some cases its someone doing all the work before giving one last pass to the try scorer and in PLENTY of others its the reverse, where the bloke who really set up the try is either one or two passes (or a kick) before, or the bloke who scores the try does so in an almost solo effort and the guy with the TA did fuck all. You better give me something better than that about your team or I'll assume there is nothing.

Also not buying into TA's based on the fact that different teams have a plethora of players to go to rather than just one or two guys. Perfect example, DCE. Fuck, if Walker was the other half option (most of the year) I'd be giving DCE ALL THE BALL!

Yeah I posted try assists for two players. Friend and Peachey. I put down Friends TA's because it showed he had more then Pearce (which I found surprising) and for Peachey I did so to show he can create tries all over the park and would be able to create opportunities coming off the bench.

mine were mostly based on trys, TA's for a half is most definitely important mind, making for others from the middle of the park is far for difficult than a FB or ctr giving the last pass

Also not sure how others are deciding their vote but I am doing so by a points system. Have a tie for top spot for my vote at the moment so may have to rethink things.

Oh yeah I have done that.. sort of. Bottom team = less points, Top team = more points.
By points I mean rankings not points scored by players or any such thing

Re: Draft Game 2016 V2
I see what you are saying but i still disagree. We had some fans (only 1 or 2 really) bagging out Sezer all year and using TA's to try and back it up. What they were missing, was the bloke had put Wighton in the gap over and over and Wighton usually used that space to get it into the hands of the winger/centre. Both were important in the try but only Wighton gets the TA (Have a look at how many TA's he got this year), often Sezer was actually more important in the try, but didn't get a TA. We also had plenty of times where he would put in a nice kick close to the line, a centre/winger would leap up right on the line and bat it back/offload to the bloke beside him... guess who gets the TA.Welshy wrote:mine were mostly based on trys, TA's for a half is most definitely important mind, making for others from the middle of the park is far for difficult than a FB or ctr giving the last pass

Even then that's a rather subjective way to view things though isn't it? Take Melb for example. One of the pet plays they developed this year was Smith outta dummy half with Proctor running the close decoy then cutout behind to Cronk for the tryline. When team structures take away from a halves dominance off the back of the ruck that naturally means that their TA's are going to be lower.
Teams with more running halves (think Austin, Hunt etc) are more likely to have TA's.
Not saying I disagree entirely with the stat, just that in a team sport it's almost impossible to actually rule upon. If Munster runs the length of the field on tackle 4 only for Smith to grubber to Vunivalu, who REALLY created the opportunity?

Nah nothing like that. Along the lines of...
Thurston = 10 points
Brooks = 1 point
