From a personal stand point I can't see how Dreamworld will be able to continue operate after the ensuing court cases and the fuckton of new regulations that will have to be put in place. To me that is a horrible thing to think of as there is nearly 4000 jobs at stake but its a reality that we may have to face.

Nearly 4000! Wowsers, my ignorance figured a place like that would have a couple of hundred.

I can see it moving into every theme park, not just the ones with similar rides. I'm a deadset wuss, but some of those rides at Wet and Wild are crazy! Completely different style but still with the potential or a fatality. Adventureworld over here I believe has been struggling the last few years. We also had a smaller water park close down this year that was an institution.

Yeah there is a lot it all adds up though, Rideys, Photos staff, Merch staff, Food and Beverage staff, Entertainers, Costume characters, Cleaners, Animal staff, tiger handlers, mechanics, electricians, plumbers, welders, fabricators, painters, plumbers, HR staff, graphic designers, PR staff, call centre, guest services, Warehouse staff, life gaurds, medics, security, gardeners, chefs and I'm sure a fair few more job titles Ive forgotten.

I had no idea the numbers were that high. Both governments should be stepping up to provide whatever is needed to keep the place open and safe. I have no doubt that people will be screaming for heads to roll and so they should but axeing 4000 jobs instead of bringing it up to a safe standard isn't the way to go.

I doubt all 4000 would be working at the same time. But we can't keep them employed if it means operating a death trap.

Guess the future of the park depends on the investigation, and whether they decide if it was freak accident or negligence
