    Alright, just used Honey Badgers team picker and knocked this up pretty quickly;

    Smith (Mortimer)
    Fifita Klemmer (Wallace NPR)
McGuire SMat Buhrer (Pritchard NPR NPR)
    Lamb Gutherson (Elgey NPR)
    BJ Idris (Moga NPR)
    Hayne Slater RTS (Uate NPR)

Not sold on Mortimer, would like Api or McInnes.  I like Klemmer this year.  I see him continuing his 50 point or so average.  2nd row bench sucks, but like the main set, although not sold on Moose.  Lamb should be good with Mullen gone and Guth is a punt but has the potential.  Hopefully Moga can squeeze in too but not likely right away.  Solid and probably the same WFB as everyone else.  If I can get a couple of solid potential cheapies to fill the bench, not a bad if risky start.  Didn't look through the lists all the good so probably heaps of cheaper options I've missed.

Need to get Surgess in there though.

VSDT is open today. SC opened yesterday. Just in case anyone who plays them didn't realise.

Dont mind the lamb pick but gutherson is a wait and see for me. We havent seen how he scores partnered with norman who will be the dominate half. Gutherson prob wont get many kick metres so your relying on tackles and attacking stats.

Am I missing something with Buhrer and Barnett? Seen them in a fair few teams and don't understand the love. Neither have done it long enough for me to consider as my "gun" second rower and I don't see the upside.

Thought I better have a dig into the stats
Buhrer played less than 80 minutes in 4/15 games with one game of 18 minutes(assuming injury affected). His average in games playing 80+ minutes is 56(priced at 49.Cool, although that includes 2 golden point games.
Barnett only played 80 minutes in 4 out of 9 games, however his lowest minutes total is 59. His average in 80 minute games is 56.5(priced at 50).

Are both of these two likely to get the "80 minute slots"? If so what does this mean for Sione, who's lowest minutes as an edge second rower was 78(although he did play 71 at lock). Plenty of options in the Newcastle back row but I'm not sure which will get the minutes required

I think the Knights backrow positions will be:
    Sione M & Buhrer 2fr & Barnett lock.
Both Sione & Buhrer will play 80 mins & Barnett will get the rest because edge forwards can easily play 80 mins but middle forwards are doing the grunt work & need a rest. Having said that all 3 could play big minutes similar to the Warriors back row & the Knights could just rest whoever needs to be rested on a game by game basis.
On Buhrer he does have an injury prone history so he's a no go for me but I think he's capable of averaging 55-60. I already have Sione but if I was going to pick another it would definitely be Barnett. He has size/power & a great offload & if he plays lock he'll get his hands on the ball more often plus he'll make a million tackles each week.

between Sione, Buhrer, and Barnett, there is probably 1 great pick and 2 disappointing ones. Working out which way that falls is the tough part.

For someone who just said they didn't want to take fantasy that seriously, here's my second draft in 2 hours haha.

    Smith (Koro)
    Fifita DSaifiti (AFB, NPR)
Surgess SMat Klemmer (NPR, NPR, NPR)
    Lamb Moses (Elgey, NPR)
    BJ, Idris (Moga, NPR)
Hayne, Slater, RTS (Uate, NPR, NPR)

The lack of bench in the second row is a worry, but hopefully a couple of cows pop up. Becnh sucks overall really but stating team is good.

All 3 of them look promising on paper when you look at the stats... I don't expect any of them to score less than what they are priced at, but you might be right about only one of them being a great pick.

If Mortimer gets the gig at dummy half I would be tempted to use him as a cashcow in the halves seeing he's DPP

If Segs doesn't make it to the sharks, Flanagan has been talking about a dual role to cover hooker.
Between Morts, Cherrington, Nu Brown, and Brailey.
    Sauce Flanagan interview

I would think the minutes would be split up about 50/30, whoever gets the starting gig will get the bigger chunk of the pie.
I would expect them to give Brailey a chance sometime during the season, but probably not at the start.

If you are only picking one of the Knights backrowers SioneMat is by far the safest option! Cheapest by a mile and dual CTR. Plenty of options around Buhrers and Barnetts price with less risk attached

What scores are people selecting Mortimer hoping for? Actually what is the little fella priced at? I wouldn't expect anything more than 50 mins and 30 max out of him

    he's priced at 30 points, 286k

    Nu Brown: 149k
    Cherrington: 143k
    Brailey: 138k

If any of those 3 get 50 mins, they would be worth milking

Thought Morts might of been cheaper because I've seen him in a few teams, he has done well fantasy wise in the past but that was playing 80mins in the half and he did a fair amount of kicking then, playing hooker and 50 mins I don't see much upside. The other you have stated have potential but I wouldn't waste a second hooker spot on any of them, maybe Brown as a 4th choice half option at a push.

I agree, I wouldn't waste the 2nd hooker spot on them, but Nu Brown in the halves might be ok

Had Nu Brown a few years back when he was playing 6 for the sharkies, went okay will need the minutes before I consider him though! Back on Morts there are plenty of options at his price which a shed load more potential...Lamb, Hodgko, Sezer

Noticed due to JT's brilliance as a coach ET is dual HOK in VSDT

Also thought about throwing Siro into the halves as an early POD/potential cow
