Thanks mate. Bit of hard luck and stupidity combined. Hard luck with JBrom round 1, then going JBrom to Lolo who got suspended for 2, then lost Carty, ET along with the standard RTS and Jayne. So bang, 5 keepers gone in 1 week. Stupidity not going Smith, the last 2 years i thought this guy is going to slow down and each time he throws it in my face. The bloke will be 46 years old and still carving up. Worst of all i went Hodgson as a POD so missed the 2 Macs. Going to grab one of them this week at a 100k deficit basically plus all the points lost.Simon Templar wrote:

Nothing glaring Welshy. You are lacking a second CTR, but Cotric has potential and you have a lot of cheapies (all making money) as backups.
I'm not sure about the A.Taylor-Jacks trade. Taylor isn't on my radar at all, so I can't really comment on him. For what it's worth, I traded Jacks IN for Elgey last round.

Thought Taylor would really kick on this year and be the dominant half with TRoberts moving to utility but his defence is poor and with the Titans struggling with injuries lacking continuity with the constant chopping and changing so unable to build that rapport with his edge rowerSimon Templar wrote:

Given I think Cotric might be the best cow I'd look at your halves. Find a way to get KNorman in for Elgey? Scores good and great bye rounds.

Unfortunately scored 786 this week so contributing to L2 & Bullbenders leagues under performing, thinking of bringing in Peachy into CTR's & maybe Gutherson or Alex Johnston into the fullback position to try and strengthen things up

Hey BB2. IMO 786 is a decent score for that nightmare of a round.

The next time Idis starts he looses money here.
The next time BBainbridge starts he makes some money here.
So pending any surprises with TLT, think I'll go
Sirosuxs to Bilbyidge and Idris to (never trade in) Aubusson. ( for some)

Probably just the one trade this week - Suli to Ma'u. $5.5k in the bank. Just waiting to milk some cows and saving trades.
Smith, (Brailey)
Gallen, Tolman, (Faufusi)
JTrbo, Surgess, Barnett (Hess)
SJ, Cleary (Jacks)
Ma'u, Talakai
RTS, Tedesco, Ponga
Cash cows: Kelly, Whare, Cotric, Priest, Yates
NPR: Hayne, Field, Papalii
Slowly climbing up the rankings - 1,710th -> 1,521st -> 898th

Looks like I've gottne a bit lucky, currently in 9th with ~<100k ITB
Cam, McCullough
JBD, F Kaufusi, Wallace, Leota
McGuire, Mannering, Gallen, Hess, Afoa, Yates
Lamb, Sironen, Jacks, Elgey,
Aubs, Cotric, Whare, Suli
Gutherson, Smat, B Kelly, Hayne RTS
Anyone thinking of ways to get in Vaughn? Or are you hoping his scores thus far are not gonna be the norm?
Im a little torn as to what to do this week as a result. I will upgrade Bunty to someone (Norman or Vaughn most likely) and will have to sell either Siro or Hayne to make that work for RJennings.
I'd like to be able to bring in Slater next week or the week after (depending on how he scores this week)
And then there are the obvious targets including most notably Whitehead (next week) and JBrom (2 weeks) and perhaps Bodeene too although Im not sold on him yet.
best move? Norman/Vaughn + RJennings for Bunty & Siro/Hayne?

Hey R&T
Moving Afoa on is probably for the best as he's likely to be back to a bench role now.
Norman and Vaughan are both good target - possibly I'd have slight preference for Norman as then you strengthen your halves. Unless you think Lamb/Jacks is good enough for now.
I would consider holding Hayne. If/when he's fit again he has good money making potential. Sironen will just frustrate you.
I'd also consider making some cash available for Taumalolo next week.
150 points in 2 rounds means he'll get a nice price rise - and he looks to be willing to carry on from lasdt years Dally M form.

Well done R&T, great start - your team is looking good. To answer your earlier questions, for me the main difference between VSDT and NRLF are the price changes and the high price for negative stats (although not penalties anymore). The three week initial price change process gives you a bit more of a chance to look at possible cash cows, rising mid-rangers etc. I run all my trades in the first few weeks based on who is looking to gain (or lose) the most money. The high price on negative stats mean I'm probably a bit more conservative in my selections than NRLF and look for 2RFs available in the CTRs, HLFs available as a WFB, and guys less likely to miss tackles, but looks like you've got that covered too!
For this week, I agree with Milchcow - Norman will get a nice price bump this week, and will fill more of a whole in your line-up. I'm trying to shift things around to get Norman in this week too.

Cheers guys for your replies.
I might have to bow to your superior experience and wisdom but just to play devils advocate in terms of the case for the other options.
Norman - Im worried about his hammy, they can be a real bugger of an injury and could see him out again and again. On the plus side if it was precautionary the Eels might have had to learn the hard way with their loss so perhaps he'll play from now on unless it gets real bad. Trouble is its a question mark going forward. Otherwise I completely agree, the price bump, the bye coverage, and you kinda know what you are getting points wise (injuries aside) may be enough to warrant picking him.
Vaughn - if he continues to play like this he could well be the key to finishing high up on the ladder. From here on in there are so many guys to pick up cause they are cheap relative to their value: Whitehead, JBrom, Leilua, Bodene, and Taumalolo that I honestly don't think I'll be able to get him at all if it's not this week. Will he be the big POD that he currently seems to be? That's what Im worried about.
Hayne - I agree but he is likely out for another 3 weeks or so. to be honest Im probably gonna have to sell him next week anyway to be able to upgrade to Whitehead or Taumalolo....
Sironen - just wonder if he is worth the risk for one more week. Surely worst case he stays about the same price no? Best case he hits 50 or so and I get another little price rise. Also gives me the option of playing him this week too.
Probably thrashed out enough but if you have any more thoughts on these guys let me know.

R&T, you are in the top 10. Getting a POD is the last thing you should be thinking of.
Concentrate on getting the best scorers and money makers in.
Vaughan is either good enough for your team or he isn't. But ownership should not come into it.
