VSDT 2018 should open this week, maybe even today.

Is KFP/Bren around to set up the VSDT leagues this year?

If not, I might be able to have a go (since it's NOT as much work as setting up the NRLF leagues). I think that I can remember how it's done. Wink lol

Hi ST, Welcome back for the new year, hope things are going well.

KFP/Bren goes by the name Moose these days and he is still around.

Don't think we have worked out who/when/how the leagues will be sorted this year, but keep an eye out for posts if we ask for volunteers.

Thanks Milchy. Hope all is good with you too mate.

Nice to hear that KFP is still around, after he went missing mid-way through last season.

Hey Alfie. There are many reasons why I prefer VSDT over NRLF, but I would have to say that one of the main reasons why I won't/can't play NRLF is because I DON'T like how the player prices change after only ONE game in NRLF compared to THREE games in VSDT. I just don't like that. As I said, there are other reasons, but that is the easiest one to explain.

I will concede that the NRLF scoring system is probably better than the VSDT scoring system (the penalty points are too harsh), but once you allow for players who who are error-prone, there is a good correlation between the scoring in the two games (as opposed to SC, which is too much of a random lottery). I can look past that, and say that, overall, I prefer VSDT, and for health reasons (CFS) that affect my memory and concentration, I can really only focus on playing one form of NRL fantasy at the same time, and VSDT is my choice.

Hey NW. It's an educated guess mate.

My son gave me the heads-up that VSDT opened last year on Tuesday 24 January 2017, and also that Sangster has been tweeting today about SC 2017 shutting down today in preparation for SC 2018 opening.

So with that info in mind, and the knowledge that Virtual Sports/Sports Deck develop BOTH VSDT and SC, we have surmised that VSDT should open sometime this week (and maybe even as early as today/this evening).

This is the reason I prefer it. Not being as "dedicated" (addicted) as most on here the 3 week change in price gives me some leeway to still perform OK but not have to change my team 8 times a day

    Doesn't appear to have opened....

I really hope they haven't given this comp the arse.

That or I hope they bring back the Sportsbet comp (and thus our annual League winners account top-up)!

    Thanks mate. Good to hear.

Not sure how you found out though, they would easily have to have the shittiest website of all the comps

If you had Assistant Coach last year you can already use their 2018 Team Planner, so they are definitely back. The early Feb is an assumption though, with SC open they shouldn't be far behind.

Gday ST, fantastic to see you back! The VSDT rego thread will be up in the coming days. Busy at work this week so will need a few days to get it together.

How many VSDT Leagues did we have last year? Would be awesome to see an increase on last year especially now Fantasy prizes have fallen down to a devon sandwich and a half a packet of chewie.

3 leagues last year. I have the list of standings. We will be running rego similar to last year where if you played last year we have your rank and if you are new provide evidence.

    $2000 for the winner.
    Prizes down to 10th

    $250 for the eliminator

    $100 for the weekly

    Better prizes than fantasy.

Much more generous cap here than fantasy

    Cook Garvey
    Graham McGuire (Scott Lodge)
Mannering Brown Murray Arrow RFM NAS
    JT Mbye (Croker Cartwright)
    McQueen Aubbs (Milne Inglis)
    Tedesco Ponga Watson (Coote Lomax)

I have Milne, Inglis, Scott, Lodge outside my scoring team. No way I will have that luxury in Fantasy

No Smith though. Hard to find room with only 2 hooker slots

G'day All Best Wishes for a cracking 2018 season

I find this therapeutic and relaxing, great if your in the running for overall but if your not you can always have a crack at Eliminator. The subtle differences in the scoring always makes interesting comparing to the main NRL Fantasy game.
