Should keep ya in the hunt mate well done, I ended up 816 with Surgess and Murray out so not too bad considering - JT has to go I am afraid just dont know who for ?

Looking around at other scores i think you will be top 10. Nobody could of missed all that carnage, plenty of common players going average or injured. Good score in a tough round i think

Haven't really looked at trade options yet, but I'm going to look at keeping Thurston as 3rd half and upgrading one of my current reserves

Trades I am looking at are Connor Watson > Capewell if he is named in the 2nd Row via GI and Manu > Su'a via Matterson, which means I will have to give JT another chance.

Trades easy for me this week. Upgrade Griffin to Cam Smith (milch looks like you were right about Griffin and his minutes going forward) and downgrade Lodge to either Su'A, Gosiewski, or another cheapie who will hopefully make money....

Pending injuries that is (any word on Fifita?)

The hope with those trades is an extra 25 points per week (as only one of Griffin and Lodge were in my 17) and also a solid captain option. Also seems like Smith is a little undervalued right now so good timing.

Up to 6th but lost ground on 1st who incidentally was only 2 points off the team of the week (the guy played Isaako and Maloney!) and has now opened up a ~140 point gap on 2nd (I'm ~270 back).

Thanks mate. I've pretty much avoided all the major trouble this year so I've had my fair share of luck. Only real drama for me was a couple rounds back where SJ pulled out late and I had to take Crokers score from memory. This week I lost Murray, but most people lost at least one of Murray or Brown. Otherwise I've had a clean bill of health.

POD this week was Taumalolo. Most people will be jumping on him this week I imagine. But hopefully getting Cam will keep me one step ahead of a few of the top guys (notice that none of the top 3 have him currently).

Long season though, only 1/4 done. Gonna have to make some good decisions and continue getting the luck.

Is that you mate? Congrats if so!!

I was just looking at that team as it surged up the rankings (managed to do that with Brown and Murray on the bench although that seemed to actually work out very well given that likely Maloney and Isaako were the two guys added to the 17). Already got Cam too Smile

Whats your plans for this week?

Maloney has worked out well for us aye! prior to this round I don't think many of the top teams had him. Feels like an easy $150k of cash generation to me!!

Yeah bro, ‘tis I... thanks, and same to you obviously! Hopefully we can stay up this end and chase these top teams down!

Yeah I thought I was in trouble when Murray & Brown went down, but the other 2 reserves certainly stood tall.

Honestly I have no idea what to do now, wasn’t really taking it very serious until now, and seeing that ranking makes me dizzy and not able to Form any real plan haha? I will probably get Lolo in though as he is as cheap as he will ever be, trading Kenner and Griffen to do so. You are getting Smith this week right?

I’m trying to work out when and how to save some trades for the bye rounds, as they look like they are going to be very messy this season...

Yeah I was super reluctant to get Maloney, but really glad I did as he is making some sweet sweet cash haha

Good stuff. Yeah Im getting Smith. Feels like a good move to add points to my starting 17 and the timing is right (BE of 21 and undervalued by $50k or so I think).

I've just had a quick look at your team and as long as Murray and/or Brown are back you are in good shape (I don't think I'd want to be playing Issako and Maloney again).

I think Tolo is the obvious guy to get in. Griffin and Kennar out makes sense too. Like me I'd say that adds 25 points to your weekly total!

In terms of long term planning - there's so much that changes each week that I wouldn't get too worried about it. That being said, I think the best way is to look at your team, circle the keepers and then figure out who else you want in your final squad, then try and figure out how and when you get them. I have a spreadsheet which I use to basically figure out if I'm gonna have enough money (and trades) to get my final squad together. My first priority is maximising my 17. Then it's about getting an 18th then 19th man, and at the same time where appropriate I'll build in a small bye plan (but I think this year I'll probably only use 3-4 trades mucking around with that).

So, for example, after this weeks trades if Mannering starts at lock he will be a buy for me either next week or the week after (thats when I project he will bottom out in price and be a good value pickup). Probably as an upgrade for Kikau, RFM, or Merrin.

I'll be looking at Gutherson closely over the next few weeks cause I think he could be a good C upgrade. Not a priority cause theres not really value there, and also C is the last thing I want to tamper with. But a good fantasy FB scoring at C seems like it should work out well (add 5-10 points to my score per week) and thats really my only other weak position in my 17 right now.

Also like the look of Mbye as a back up half, particularly given his price is bottoming out. But he doesn't add to my weekly score so is not such a priority. I'll probably add Munster in after 17 as well so I have two DPP guys I can switch around and use as half/wfb cover.

The other obvious guy I don't have is JTrbo, but thinking I'll wait till post Origin to get him now.

After that its gonna have to be based on form and price at the time, but I'll probably need to fill a couple spots with: Hess, Brown, Harris, Chrichton, Surgess, Vaughan, and McGuire. But with so many other things to deal with these can all wait. I'll probably double trade at a couple positions with these guys for the byes. I.e. Hess in for 13, then Harris for 17 and then the rest of the season. But so much can happen between now and then so theres no point planning with too much detail that far out.

That's basically the way I play it. I put in a decent amount of time each week into planning. The irony is each week that plan inevitably changes due to unforeseen circumstances. I enjoy it though.Like crunching numbers and tend to go quite well in this format (as opposed to NRLF which Im pretty average at!)

Good luck with your team mate. Hopefully the above helps a little bit.

Quick look and Griffin - Mbye looks good.
Keeping Thurston because I think he'll come good.

Waiting on news on Fifita before I make a 2nd trade.

I think keeping JT at this point is a good idea. It would be a luxury trade for me at this point but I would consider bringing him in at his current price. Could give you 50 points extra in round 13 and perhaps make some decent money by then too.

Yes, Im awaiting news on Fifita. Asked in the other thread but no reply. Is there any info out? Its a shame cause he was heading for a monster score last round. 2 rounds is a hold for me. Anything more and I'll consider trading him out. Don't like that much $ on the sidelines!!

Bringing Tom the Pom Burgess in to partner slamming Sam, need to shake things up a bit.

Decided to keep JT on the sage advice of our fav milchcow and the fact that ya cant keep a champion down. I am going against what I think I should be doing this week as it hasnt been working for me and going a bit rogue this week Drug Drug Drug

Anyone got any news on Fifita yet? Really don’t want to be trading him, and think I will just take the hit for as long as he is out (got JFH to cover), but will be getting down to the bones if he, Brown & Murray are all out this weekend

Yeah, Im waiting on news for him too. I've seen stuff that says anything from 1 week up to 4 weeks but in general it seems its not as bad as first thought. Sorry don't have any sources of details you can bank on, but I think the verdict was a bone bruise and nothing more serious than that. Seems like it could just be 1 week.

I don't own Brown, but NRL has him listed as back week 8.

Still nothing on Murray although straight after I traded him out (because I was concerned there was no news) I saw a post suggesting it was just a minor tweak and the implication was he would be back this week. That being said I haven't seen any more on this.

My approach will be first to wait and see what news comes out, and then at this stage I think its fine to carry one guy, tricky but doable to carry 2, but probably not realistic to carry three guns on the sidelines.

The worst thing with all these three guys is that they are probably all likely to play 13. Makes me more reluctant to trade them out...

If Fifita is out for 4 weeks, I'll ditch him for DCE.

Hope we get some news in the next day or two
