Dream Team Virtual Sports - Sports Deck 2017 Thread

I'm hoping to close the round out and hit my projected of ~850. I haven't avoided the carnage but I think I've faired better than many in the top 20 or so. I have Graham Wallace and a few other well under par guys but avoided a number of the popular guys like teddy, bj, walker etc

Anyone got a BE for SST? I assume he's unlikely to go too far up (or down) with a 40 point average to date.

Thanks RnT, that's good enough for me. Although upgrading Lamb as my second half is probably a higher priority. And now, trying to work out what to do with Aubs.

Terrible round for me and expecting to go backwards at a rapid rate. Having Hayne, Brailey, KNik, Cotric, Suli, Moga on my bench all scoring 40+, while having 9 players in my team scoring 40 or below, didn't help... At least they're all making cash.

No worries. I'll get things rolling with the bad scores of the week, I got 751! Anyone beat that (on the lower side I mean)?

By the way, not that it really matters, but RTS didn't get the 2 try saves in VSDT but he did in NRL. I thought they used the same stats guys?

Nobody gets try saves in this comp. It's not a stat you get points for

I saw TS and figured try save, but I now see that is Try assist

Edit: All open by the way. My shit score dropped me 3 spots so not too bad considering.

Scored 810. Jumped 1 spot to 21. Not too bad, mostly happy with team, just got to make a few changes for byes

@Rippin and Tearin looking across L1 & L3 776 is on the higher end of scores. Only 4 people in those leagues cracked 800.

Lost a bit of ground on the leader, but still within striking distance.

Still most valuable team* in top 100, so just have to hear the cash wisely.

*that only counts team value, and ignores cash in bank. There probably are teams with more total value than me when you include that

Thanks mate. Yea it could have been worse I guess but others around me scored better unfortunately - not that much better, but still.

Didn't drop too far off the pace, but gonna be tough to catch up I think. Need some luck and make some smart trades with the bye rounds approaching.

Dropped from 4th to 16th, ouch. As predicted that round hurt me the most. That is after what I considered a decent Sunday as well with Smith not going large and McInnes getting a try.

I have guys like mcguire and CHN that will make way for a couple of guns like jgraham and surgess for the bye rounds so should have 13 for the byes. That should do me right?

I currently have 11 for round 12.

Sam Burgess isn't one of them so he'll come in, but will have to add a couple more.

James Graham might be nice and cheap in 2 weeks time. Also considering SST, Tolman, Nathan Brown
Maybe a cheapie downgrade as well if one becomes apparent.

Don't want to stuff my team around too much just for some bye points, have to keep an eye on getting final 17 together ASAP too (and not run out of trades in the process)

Yeah I think james and graham are the ones to get, SST would be nice because I like him as a player, can't see him averaging too much over 50 though so feels like one I'd want to turf later.

Quick question lads, I hear this bandied about a bit but does anyone read into much the team value. Particularly at this stage of the season?

I might sneak a glance later on in the season, as it will be somewhat of a measure of how well you've traded....but even then, a less expensive player may be trending upwards at that stage (due to form, opponents they are due to face etc.) which can throw out the balance between 'actual' and 'theoretical' value.

Just interested if it is something worth paying more attention to (i.e. more than my current amount of basically zero).....

Snuck my way up to 27th now, despite 3 failed weeks of captain choices.

Funny thing is I've verged on the conservative side and held my trades the last two weeks and ended up making about 100 odd places on the leaderboard.
