Surely it is just a depth signing in case of injury? Bloke is getting on a bit now and Buhrer, SMat and Saifiti etc are their future.

Definitely a depth signing who can also help mentor the younger blokes coming through. Nobody's spot is in jeopardy with that signing

Yeah, especially since it's only a year contract. Definitely for depth, Brown probably just trying to avoid the spoon I reckon.

I think Newcastle are definitely heading in the right direction. Whether they can avoid the spoon remains to be seen. Any club could have a massive injury hit though (like the Tigers a few years ago).

I'm with you. Dragons will lose more games than the Knights

I definitely think there will be a contest for the spoon. The knights will be competitive but struggle during the season. I'm picking them for 5 or 6 wins

was there a lasting reason Woods turned into a sub-50 scorer last season?

From memory he seemed to lose his offloading and tb stats. He's also one who's prone to missing a tackle or two when his minutes go up.

His base stats were consistently solid but the attacking side of his game completely diminished

JT started playing him like J. Graham with a lot of passing before the line. Therefore he didn't hit the defensive line as much so his offloads decreased.

As the others have said he couldn't handle the increased minutes. Attacking stats completely disappeared

I thought about going Woods over someone like McGuire also however I just don't see his scores changing whatsoever. Unless I see something different in the trials I will probably just go Fifita instead as you know he will be a top tier FRF come seasons end. Pick and stick.

Funny you say that as the two highest Fantasy scores over the past two years have come from forwards. Matt Scott in 2015 and Ryan James in 2016.

Scott's one had 2 tries. Ryan James definitely had 1 try and maybe two from memory?

Which sites does everyone use for their pre season news?

I'm going across news, smh, fox sports and here. Any others that have a few fantasy or nrl stuff come out regularly?
