He was already an 80 minute player last year.
Small discount due to only playing 9 games, first couple from the bench.
If he moves to lock as suggested he'll play less minutes. Possibly catered for by extra workload, but he was already pretty busy.

Big Sammy Thaiday could be under valued due to playing prop some of the year..
Hmm I know hes a trap cause he can make 45 tackles in one week then 16 the next with the same minutes..

my tv broke wrote:Here are a few choice words from Curtis Sironen if you want to convince yourself to select him
"A fresh start is something that I needed. I was getting a bit stale there. I wasn't training as hard and started making a few excuses for myself, thinking I was going better than I was," he said.
"It was a bit of reality shock coming to Manly. No one cares what you've done or who you are. It's just about how hard you train. I just want to try and cement a starting spot now for NRL."
Built with the size of a back-rower but the skills of a halfback, Sironen said new coach Trent Barrett spent the summer encouraging him to bring out his creativity, and he responded with a two-try effort in Auckland.
"He just wants me to play, use my best qualities. I still have to do all that tough stuff out the back of the field like backrowers do these days," he said.
"If I get to play a bit creative like I can, so be it. 'Baz' has been really good. He was half the reason I went here. Just a good guy first, then a good coach."
I think that Barrett might be the kind of ex player now coach that could bring out the best in him. If the hard work is put in.

Johnny B Goode wrote:Bodene's had POD status the last two years, maybe he just doesn't need discussing anymore. I mean still the guy had a fairly low ownership rate last year and the guy wasn't inconsistent or anything, he was a legit 50+ scorer just about every week including two back to back 70+ scores. Still didn't get above like 5k ownership.
I think people are just scarred from his DPP Tigers days when he was a poor mans Sam Tagataese and a very poor mans Black Widow. He burnt me numerous times after showing promise but failing to deliver. He has been on my 'never again' list since then despite his gun status at the Warriors. I have a long memory, although somehow Mitch Aubbo has wiggled his way back in a few times.

7 News reported K.Sims will be on the bench, and one of TPJ, Joe O and Herman will partner Blair. The three of them will play off for the starting role in the WCC.

Haha. I considered him for a few mins and came to my senses. Think hes priced about what he'll average. He has actually been working hard on his fitness over the off season, but i doubt his output will improve and probably gets a spell since TPJ will play a bigger role this year

He won't play big mins in a full strength Dragons pack. I reckon 60-65 mins. Too expensive for me.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 4
But to proper fantasy talk, with Slater possibly out to start round 1, I will be looking at Manu if he gets the wing spot at the chooks over Tupou, rather than the slightly cheaper Uate. The only problem is that I am poor on cash.
Think it is worth downgrading Guthers in my WFB to Holmes just to upgrade an NPR from a nuffie like Drew to a much better cashie (IMO) if this happens?

Cooper out Vaughan in.
Rein out McInnes in.
What else has changed that De Belin won't play close to 80

I was too embarassed to mention it, but I have been tinkering with him too since news of him playing lock. Boy will make enough tackles to overcome his huge missed count maybe half the time? haha He could score 10-80 points, but all my other players seem pretty safe bets so I am looking forward to a wild ride!White Lightning wrote:I have the Carty Party in imy team.
