I cant just simply have a look at the players in a position without bringing up every single player in the game? unless i pretend to trade?

its gonna be tough playing this game after being so used to fantasy stats, tbs not worth as much, 40 trades! should be easy to make the final 17!
might slant my backs towards those who are likely to score tries if they are valued at 17points each, heres my first crack.

    smith brailey
    gallen fifi fkaufs (r) stone
surgess jdb et kbrom (r) siro (r) stimson
    norman hayne elgey (r) field
mitchell turbo french holmes cotric kelly suli
    rts python

is it wise to have 2rfs as your reserves early in the year or is it better to put your (r) on backs and hope they score tries?

what are some of the key differences to regular fantasy that a newcomer should be aware of?

why is surgess and ethan lowe worth more than jdb? this is my biggest question because it will give me an idea of what to look for in the forwards.

this will really help me if you guys can share your learnings. cheers

SC gives more attacking points then other games and have more attacking categories - this is the main reason Surgess is more then JDB - both have a high work rate but Surgess gets more attacking stats.

So Tedesco or JDB and captained Cam, but played Suli in my 17 and have McInnes for 2 100+ scores
JT and Sj to come so hopefully they can rack up a score

Hi - I'm really, really new to this having just arrived from England and didn't know the names of the teams let alone the players (I play fantasy soccer) so I'm trying to catch up. A mate put me on to this format as well as the NRL.com one so I have one team in each. I'll join the leagues listed above but could be very hit 'n' miss.

Like selecting Widdop in my team for instance ... a nice start!

Welcome @Ozymandias and good luck for the year

Before you get too excited, don't expect those scores from Widdop every week

BTW, this forum is primarily for the NRL.com version, so you'll find more discussion in those threads

Cracked the 1k mark here, but Capt Cam was the 2nd lowest score in my team.

    Pretty happy otherwise.

Thanks - I read some comments on Widdop after I'd chosen my team and thought I'd made an error (I may still have of course). Managed to get 925 .... but have no idea yet if that's good. I'm enjoying the challenge at the moment Smile

Now that the prices have been added - my team is valued at $7,467k. I have these forums to thank for all the advice on not making a total dog's dinner of it Smile I've probably used too many trades (as many as possible) but I think that apart from injuries I am 'happy' at the moment

SC always is the last to open. Fantasy and VSDT scores update once, with occasionally a second update and both open before midday. SC last year would update like 10 times during the round, it was a real pain in the ass especially when your playing H2H. Wouldnt open till around 3pm. Dont worry about making max trades the first few rounds as long as you are securing the right cows you missed and dumping the midranger duds you took a punt on.

Thanks - long term injuries and duds out for cows is what I have done so far, still learning but I guess every day's a school day

Seeing as I did VSDT BEs may as well do them here as well, seeing as how similar they are, for the 3 and a half people that play Supercoach on this site

If somene with assistant coach and a bit of time wants to check a few of these against the site to see if I have got things in the right ballpark, that would be awesome. Otherwise I'll just assume they are close

That looks in the ballpark based on what they estimate on nrlsupercoachtalk.com, which is like a SuperCoach bible as far as I'm concerned.

I play in a H2H league with friends, and usually don't worry about overall scores, just trying to get my team right for the finals so I have bragging rights over my mates. Don't play any other fantasy comps. We originally played in the Fox Sports Fantasy game before it was taken over by SuperCoach. I preferred Fox because I'm a trade slut, but this is fine for a bit of fun.

I've made a few poor selections this year, and my forward pack looks woeful, so I have a fair bit of work to do there, though I'm happy with what my backline looks like this early in the season. My current team is:
    Hooker: Farah, Pritchard
Props: Burgess, Priest, F Kaufusi, Bateman
Back Row: Hess, Talakai, Wallace, S Mata'utia, Idris, Winterstein
    Halves: Johnson, Thurston
    5/8's: Norman, Dylan Walker
CTW: Radradra, Turbo, Kelly, Cotric, Moga, Robert Jennings, Suli
    Fullbacks: RTS, Tedesco

I wanted to upgrade Farah to Smith this week, but couldn't make it happen soon enough. I'll be shitty if Farah and SMat lose too much this week, or Idris somehow finds a 20 minute bench stint.

    Trades I've done so far:
Before Week 2 - Whare to Suli
Before Week 3 - Sarginson to Tedesco, Cartwright to Hess
Before Week 4 - Hayne to Norman, Hurrell to Jennings

So I managed to score 1,139 this week with a few good performances .... beginners luck no doubt.

Quick question - do you think Sam Burgess having dropped 55k is now a good buy? He looked like he was on for a big score before his HIA last game.

Just can't get into Supercoach. If I ever started well in the first few rounds I could probably maintain it, but after spending time on fantasy and VSDT I struggle to put the time required into planning trades and just put a bunch of random stuff out.

Here's the BEs anyway for those that want them

The good thing about SC (I've just discovered) is that CHN is frozen at his original $122K until next week - and is projected to go up $95k .... rude not to really

With Tyrone Peachey now injured, hopefully he will get more gametime and that price rise is way too good to pass on.

I've not been paying too much attention to my SC team, only have been making trades here and there without too much analysis and I'm doing a lot better than fantasy so may spend some more effort here.

    My team

    CS, CMc
    Gallen, Wallace, Kafusi, papali
JT, JDB, Surgess, CHN, yates, talakai
    Johnson, Frawley
    BBQ, Jacks
tturbo, kelly, moga, cotric, GGM, chambers, suli,
    RTS,Ponga

    515k in bank.

Thinking of upgrading BBQ or Kelly to Cwalker and then maybe bringing in crichton for either yates, talakai or maybe suli. Thoughts?

Do people here actually want supercoach BEs?

I've been taking the stats every week so will go to the effort of posting if people want them
