Good job knocking me off in the Select league boozy. I missed the mail on Talakai and got stuck with the Hayne wrecks 10.

Ahh that's your team, hard to know who is who sometimes so changed my name (Bourbon Brothers) to make it easier haha
Yeah damn close, sometimes it is the simple things ore minor mistakes but better for it to happen early on.
Well you have a decent team there anyways, good luck this week

Round 2 Trades
The fun conundrum of who to trade out.
Aim is to bring in a couple more earners and increase squad depth. Should a couple more players go down, you don't want to regret not clearing deadwood
Idris in reserve grade hopefully getting up to speed, not a guaranteed starter in near future.
Talakai out of favour but the risk he gets his spot back or gets a bench role.
Hayne has potential but out for a decent chunk of time, most potential of above and if can readjust attitude is a potential keeper if he can find old form
Based on that I believe the 2 trade outs will be Idris and Talakai but need to check Rabbitohs late mail in case of a sneaky Talakai bench role
Brad Abbey
Have seen him play in u20, has potential and playing at fullback should help scoring.
Talk of him also getting kicking duties which would be bonus, a downgrade generates some cash for upgrades in coming weeks along with someone not injured to increase depth.
Robert Jennings
Looked alright in his first hit out and appears to be favored over Talakai in this position. Low BE and has DPP which will be handy with also owning Cotric and Suli.
As above, the downgrade to him helps with the cash situation
Edited: Didn't get a chance to put my team up prior to kickoff but this is what I ran with

Round 3 Results
Third week down and what a week it was. Another low scoring week, plenty of injuries and the loss of form of some popular players made it very interesting.
Trade review
Well trading out 2 players (injured/not selected) for 2 starting cheapies and freeing up 150k sounds like an alright plan on paper.
Still unsure how these will work out long term but prior to Jacks getting his spot back via injury, Elgeys poor form and a raft of other red dots I knew I needed to do something.
Hayne is still a long way from returning and no guarantee he comes back firing. If Talakai starts this week that would hurt a little as looked at keeping him over idris but opted to free up more $$ to give me more options.
As long as I spend the money wisely then can't see this having too much of a negative impact long term. Can't always win the dice rolls.
H2H
Well both games this week I ended up facing the Warriors001.
Facing a Maori James Bond would mean it was a tough ask, and on paper had potential to beat me well.
I found out he also hit the jackpot with 3 of my NPRs who scored well playing in his team so it was only a big game from my POD's and a quiet Tedesco that got me over the line.
Well played Warriorman, think you will go well overall this year and one to watch
Injuries
RTS I hope has recovered and hopefully will start this week, badly needed at the back.
Smat apparently broke his nose so will have to see if he is named.
Form
JDB,McInnes,Gutherson are all trucking along and scoring great with the bonus of having low ownership. Captain smith keeps proving he is the stable rock of my squad and will remain there too.
Sironen had a poor game so will be monitored/trades and the wfb cows will be watched to make sure the don't lose money. Should be fine for a couple weeks so they need good games to kickstart the $$ again. Anyways bring on TLT

Why did you switch Gutho into your NPRs before taking the screenshot?

Gutherson going great guns right now and with Jacks to start for a while, means I can run one less cow WFB with Gutherson moving back there.
Regarding trades I am waiting for TLT and if Sione pulls up after his broken nose and if RTS is over his issues.
But looking at 2 of the following players.
Aubusson (at CTR)
Slater
Hoare/PKaufusi
Addin Fonua Blake
Cow 2RF/FRF to replace Papalii/Siro
Sironen to Aubusson has a BE of 21 so if I don't pull the trigger soon he will jump too much. Like the stability of '2rf' scores, and Whitehead missed out on DPP so this is the only other option I like.
Then in the next 2 weeks move both Smat and Aubo to CTR once cows peak
Suli to Slater - I don't mind slater, think he will average mid 30's which will do until origin and give me a back 3 of RTS/Gutho/Slater. Not high priority but wil do more homework
ADF could make 100k and score well if he gets the minutes
Hoare/PKaufusi is a tough one, Kaufusi looks to have another 50k left in him but Hoare has more potential and scored badly in a well beaten team so could pick his game up.
Will target the usual Whitehead/Bromwich once the bottom out and have mid rangers there to achieve this, unsure on Bodene as his role might have changed.

The Aubusson pick is an interesting one... @SI would be happy with this decision.
Whitehead and Bromwich definite targets... we'll probably see what happens with Bodene in the next couple weeks
Also...Re:Aubbs... Roosters have good bye rounds
Guest- Guest
@Rev I have started with Aubusson the past few years actually, though my love affair with him is not on the scale of SI.
Unsure if he can keep up his average going forward but if he can pump out mid 40s while in the Ctr position consistently then that would add up going forward (vs gambling on cows as a lot would be doing this, also a POD)
I have been thinking what happens when SST comes back but he is part of their leadership group and signed for a few more years. Also by then we are close to byes so the origin players are out and he would have more workload there too.
I didn't start with him as money was stretched and opted for a cheaper version in Sione.
Worst case scenario if his role disappears (unlikely) you would have a pick of any centre in the game
TTrbo was a contender also but I am of the old school where I try to stack positions with forwards or halves. So CWalker at WFB is also on my shopping list over someone like Tedesco but would love both haha

Round 4 Trades
Mitchell Aubusson
DPP, good byes, should average 45+ every week in an unpredictable CTR position (not having to play cows scoring 15 means an extra 30 points per week)
Idris out. While he has potential to start scoring later, he isn't scoring anything now and gives the cows another week to make something and work out who to trade later
Zane Tetevano
Purely a downgrade option to allow me to move Aubo to the centre.
Not expensive, with Evans and SST due back may disappear but could get some game time over origin. No real risk of copping an AE score from him going forward
Sironen out. Could still make some more money but Aubo has a low BE too so probably a fair upgrade and the extra points is nice

Well looked at lots of different options this week but the priority was to get Aubo into the centres.
Needed a cow forward to bring in and upon all the research settled on Tetevano.
He is a large human, scores alright in limited minutes and looking at the bench the roosters are low on FRF (lots of 2RF). Also over origin will hopefully get game time too
I don't mind gambling on a couple cheapie scores but last week I rolled complete snake eyes.
This way with RTS back and Aubo in, that is 2 less I have to worry about.
Then the worst cow will be off to the abattoir with Smat moving up to Ctr as well
So out Idris,Sironen , In Aubo(CTR) Tetevano

Well done on the Aubo trade mate. Well played. Very solid game last night. Also thanks for the mention in the write up of H2H. I was unlucky not to have Norman which probably enhanced Gutherson for you but then I got very lucky playing Jacks, Elgey and Yates so it evens out. Just too strong for me this time. No doubt we will meet again come finals time!

Yeah Aubs did what it said on the packet and scored a mid 40 score. For someone who made a few tackles and wasn't relying on big plays it's good to have a consistent quiet acheiver.
Regarding the H2H, it usually comes down to something small like a player pulling out or a head knock etc. Will be interesting how our teams will both look after origin

Round 4 Results
Well now that the tough weekend is over I have had time to reflect on what was probably my worst week in Fantasy. To be fair I got unlucky with a combo of high ownership cows going large (Hess/Ponga) while my cows/mid rangers went crap.
Throw in some players going off for HIA,players out of position and a sprinkle of guns scoring below average and you have my week.
It is what it is, move on and deal with it.
The positive is no major injury concerns for now and will monitor Lamb/Surgess who both suffered knocks.
Trade review
So Aubo came in at the expense of Sironen. While on paper Siro scored more and will make a little more $$ I still got a price rise with Aubo.
Points wise, I probably came out in front as would have had to play a cow instead so a 30pt bonus there.
Tetevano was always a cash out, would have liked more minutes but he is an injury or HIA away from more and will get more over origin.
Seeing Idris named this week means he may actually start making money but needed to reduce some risk out of my team so couldn't afford to take the chance he wasn't.
H2H
Congrats to both Blindside and RNGD Kiwivillains, more tough games and I never looked like you this week. Both look to have solid teams so should go well this season.
To everyone else who stomped me in the other 30 leagues I joined, well played.
Haha that is the downside for being a good dude and joining every 'digital pass league', a mountain of losses Good fun though
Injuries
Lamb took a knock, Surgess failed HIA at half time, maybe a few other players with niggles but no major ones. So team is in ok shape there.
Form
Fifita has had a quiet start to the year. Being a sharks fan I watch him like a hawk too.
Thing is due to the weather he has played a lot simpler, running hard but not offloading or the things he is famous for. So has played well, just not fantasy wise.
There aren't a lot of options in FRF so no one to really swap with long term and only a matter of time before he goes boom.
Anyways everyone lifts for me this week, due some luck and hoping last week was a blip.
Still have faith that my plans will fall into place and I'm a good spot for origin byes.
Bring on round 5
