Apologies if you read it that cut and dry mate, was never calling you out for not basing your decisions on stats in that manner, I know your long history in fantasy and help on This and previous sportal forum and apologise if you took it that way. I'm guessing I was peeved that you simply came out and said you laughed at any side using DSaifiti and left it at that, no reasoning no back up. I should of queried your reasonings instead of being blunt!GreenMachine wrote:
Had no idea that was your point. Bit harsh!
I've done a pre season spreadsheet for pricing value for nearly all of the 10 or 11 seasons I've been playing this game so disappointing the first year I have a 5week old baby and don't bring stats to the table I'm called out.
Everyone on here is working off the same sheets these days anyway so I don't think there's any harm from the occasional person just calling it as they see it from watching matches
Only have to ask ST or Si or DK or any old head about the sort of shit smart elephant and I used to play around with to suggest some past performances were backed up by more than guesses!
You do get the last laugh in that my recent form since moving to the Isle of Man 5years ago has been horrendous so cue massive season for D Saifiti and mediocrity from McGuire

I like E Lowe but if the Cows get Fensom it would reshuffle the pack
So now it's either E Lowe or T Harris

I have chosen DSaifiti, JWH, and Gurgess in my front row for the sole reason that I think they can push into the 400k+ region.
Is it a bad idea to not have a recognised gun there?

I'm running with Gurgess and Prior, bench AFB and FKaufusi, will upgrade down the track
No harm in running without a gun, the cap makes it tough unless your the Roosters

Also slightly torn over who to pick between Turbo and Holmes, the extra cash will be mighty helpful.

Tough choice but I hope you choose the correct player
Can Holmes fill Barbas spot? Can the Sharks backline be as good this year as last year?
Will the changes to Manlys backline (Uate,Wright)effect Turbo? Will the backline take time to jell?
That's why I'm staying clear of both

My back three have question marks too lol
Hayne, will he be ready for round 1?
RTS, can he reproduce his old Roosters form for the Warriors?
Billy Slater, How bad is his shoulder? Can he get back to his old form?
So if Hayne misses round 1,I'll run with Phythian and Slater I'll run with a cheapie (ponga, suli, burns)

Why does everyone wait until the end of the year looking for POD's when they achieve the same thing from the start? Smiths ownership is 28% and McInnes is 4% you can then use the cash to get in Fifita as captain whos ownership is 12%.Pookus McFly wrote:When I lurk through the millions of 'rate my team' posts on Renegades, if I don't see Smith right away, then I straight up stop looking at that team. Which option do you like:
(a) Cartwright (2fr) & T-Trbo (wfb) or
(b) JDB/Mannering (2fr) & Gutherson (wfb)
Thanks.

I think TRBO will be a better buy than Holmes, but due to cash restrictions I have Holmes. I have some reservations about how valuable he'll actually be. I have a feeling he's just going to teeter around the 300k mark, returning those scores that kind of hurt your total but aren't bad enough to dump him. I think the Sharks might start the year slowly due to new combinations and it won't help Holmes with attacking points. Reading the reports of manly trials (trial form grain of salt etc) TRBO is fully fit and looking sharp. My gut feel is telling me French will bust out some big scores early in the year but I don't know if I can do it.

You could start with all 3. The main problem is, while both McInnes and Fifita are PoD's in a sense. They don't necessarily compare to Smith throughout the year. They are about his level but never at his level.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 7
I did an exercise a few weeks back about captains consistency....55 points was the minimum score allowed for captain and Fifita actually had a higher captaincy consistency rating (scores above 55) than Smith, without opening the spreadsheet think Smith was 20 of 26 games and Fifita was 21 of 25 games. JDB was the highest I found with 13 of 15 games played (when playing 60+ minutes at lock)

Not too much to be honest. Other than Brailey the side looks really balanced and really solid overall.

.. if i run with Brailey then my 17 differs by 3 players. Basically have the same NPRs too (though most will have much of the same in NPRs anyway)
Smarts is telling me to run with Brailey because of hte limited cash making opportunities in the top half of the squad.
Gut is saying CM9 will avg 60+
