Hearing Shaun Fensom is now done at the Cowboys. Great signing for NQ. He never lets anyone down.

Anyone know how SC is travelling.
To be fair to FanHub, I think last year's product was wonderful. Functionality and appearance were great; bar the Ryan James fracas and maybe a couple of other issues.
Less players means higher ranking?

Haha, didn't work for my VSDT team last year.
I reckon there is maybe 5000 sniper teams to come, maybe another 10000 new entrants after the comp kicks off. If I am in the ballpark with that then they will need 35000 to sign up in the next 6 days to even reach 100k.

NRL doesn't seem to promote Fantasy all that much unless there's material I'm not seeing. I mean Supercoach is in the papers, the Footy Show and Fox. By comparison NF is kind of just on NRL.com isn't it. NF has a much more professional presentation compared to SC I wonder why it's not like pushed more.
Holden sponsors it or they did so if they push it that's more advertising money and it's not quite as crippling an addiction as gambling could be which NRL are in love with.

Now you have to think that a couple thousand will sign up over the next week before kick off. But throughout the season I doubt many new teams are registered and we are way off the 112,477 from last year.
2014 had the Plate comp due to the round 1 stuff up, so a lot of users would have had 2 teams.
And a lot of those would have been turned off by the general fuckupedness of the comp that year and left, never to return.

Yep, you'd think the NRL would flog Fantasy.
Anyone remember what year it was when Fox ran the live DT points as a banner during games? 2012 maybe?

I just don't think there is enough money in it for them.
I think Australia has gone past peak fantasy numbers. I believe the AFL comps are down on their highs from a couple years ago too.
All the die-hards still play, but less casuals seem to be around

Well that sucks. Fantasy's great, it's addictive and makes you really pay attention to other teams and players like you never thought possible. I mean heck NRL could have set up an NRL Fantasy stand at their season launch and I would have volunteered to answer people's questions about it.

I picked up Fensom in Ultimate draft as an NPR before any news of the Cowboys offer was released, things are looking up so far.

Anyone interested in some kind of last-man-standing comp?
Just to clairfy, I wouldn't run it.
