TTurbo sure is tempting but i bet he ends up as a bolter on the wing for NSW this year.

Not a serious team. BUT - I also believe that outside your captain, there's no difference between a team of 300k players and a team of 500k and 140k players. Sure, individual players will obviously score above their average (and you have the players who are discounted), but overall $5.8mil worth of players are priced to score a certain number of points whichever way you slice it.

There is talk on the eels forums that he may get kick metres as well, being the 2nd preference for long kicks

To earn money which is the goal up to origin the article suggested the "bottom-up" approach i.e. first players after your captain are the 8-10 cash cows who will make the $. If there aren't many rookies named for round 1 then you will be picking a few mid rangers. Then the rest are as many guns as you can. So this year I'm trying this approach. The top-down approach is usually the way I usually pick my team.
Wasn't this for H2H though? Thought the article (if it's the same one I read), then went on to outline a different strategy for overall points?

Risky getting that 6th gun in place of a 2 x high upside mids, i think most have gone a mid 3rd FB and either mid 3rd backrower or lower mid 3rd front rower.
What are you expecting from Uate points and cash wise? If you upgrade him and downgrade gallen/surgess what happens? 700k for both positions should get 2 guys who consistently score the same or better while making more cash i would think.
I still have enough money to turn Uate into Young.T. without downgrading anyone. If he gets and keeps the fullback spot, he might be a good POD ?

Sezer previous good scoring was in a completly different system/role to what he plays in Canberra now, he is just a ball distributor for the exciting edge players. He would need to up his kicking and run a lot more to see upside.
Maloney will go back to having a lot more responsibility now Ennis isnt there running the show, he only avg 150 km last season (roughly) and that seems pretty low. Its not like Townsend kicked a lot either (110m roughly)
Interesting. How much metres did Ennis kick. I just thought Sezer bottomed so badly and probably has goal kicking till Croker back that he has to improve

Lane is at Manly. I was hoping he'd be in the 17 and I had him in my first team, however it looks like he won't be there in rd 1.GreenMachine wrote:

Btw where is Shaun Lane? Did he trial for manly?
I'd much rather a mix of him with a bunty afoa, than some mox that includes sironen
I'm trying to forecast future full strength squads and I would assume Lane better than Sironen just as I expect Toupou to eventually push sione mat back into centres
I rate him higher than Sironen or the other 3rd 2RF options at Manly, however I'm basing that on his time at the dogs.

Quick question guys. For a draft, what page do you sit on ready for it to start and kick into gear?

I dont like the look of that Storm backline, know one can figure out how long Slaters out, if Munster will go back there ect.
If you take that 230k and add to Surgess you could get:
Holmes and Frizell
Gutherson and ET
or big PODs Kahu and Cartwright
Id think any of those combos score more the Surgess/Uate and make more cash

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 8
heres where the Moga story has come from
http://renegadesfs.com/index.php/nrl-news/item/1502-broncos-to-debut-cash-cow-centre
If Oates goes to 2nd row (seems unlikely to me) im guessing Thaiday is going back to frontrow (off the bench again)
Seems likely Mead has been dropped and kills Kahu's value

Can Oates play 80 mins on the edge. Currently classified as a wfb so will get dpp 2fr/wfb. Could be a good 3rd wfb.

Lane is like Sironen in that is reputation is based on a month or two of good form a few years ago.
He has changed clubs twice since then, so you have to wonder if he'll ever return to that form.
Afoa is $300k. As tempting as he is its a lot to spend on someone only covering for injury.
At least Sironen/Lane are cheap

Moga did do really well in the trials as did Mead.
I cant see Mead being dropped
If Oates were to go to the second row there is room for Mead and Moga Kahu and Roberts

If I sell Ponga to anyone cheaper I can go Gallen to Buhrer & Uate to Holmes.
Does that sound better ?

Anyone expecting more from Danny Fualalo. Browne off and RFM and Big Kas taking the bulk of the mins off the bench I still think there is an improvement there especially if they blood a rookie prop

Yep, he looked like a weapon at the Dogs. Wish the Tigers had have gone after him.
