People never pick Maubbs because he'll get moved to centre.

He played 15 games in the 2nd row - averaged 42.7
7 games at centre  averaged 26.4

    Priced at 37.5

Aidan Guerra actually got moved around even more
    13 games at lock/2nd row - averaged 48.8
    8 games at centre/five-eighth/interchange - averaged 36

    Priced at 43.9

Don't know if I am recommending picking Maubs, Guerra or neither. But with SST gone there is a spot in the 2nd row eitehr one is about 5 point underrpriced

    Interesting.

    11 Corder
    12 Aubbo
    13 Guerra

    Sounds about right.

No way you'd put Fensom in until you see where he fits into the team.

Taupau is one I finished the year with and he was strong.  Interesting that he isn't mentioned much but not sure, is it sounding like he might go back to the front row?  If so, stay away.

So the vibe is that he won't get the minutes?

Really? Fair enough, i guess without the extra minutes may not be worth the punt.

But correct me if i'm wrong, didn't he play from the front a few times last year? And they were some of his bigger scores?

Seemed like he was less energetic and involved from lock last season.

Impossible to know if Fensom will be any good until we see how many minutes he plays. 60 minutes at least to be any use

Last year Taupau averaged 54.5 in 2nd row. 44.1 as prop

He started the last trial at prop. They may just be because Lussick is injured and a couple other prop options were underdone.
But a little too much risk for me.

I think with Connor Watson on the bench there's less risk of Maubs shifting to CTR. My only problem is SMats is cheaper and stands to rise in value so no Subs to start with for me

So looking at the possible bench before Fensom signed for the Cowboys:
    Hampton
    Hess
    Asiata
    Hoare/P. Kaufusi

The only one on there he could challenge for a bench spot is Asiata & Asiata has the ball playing aspect in his armoury that Fensom doesn't. Also Asiata is quite key to how the Cowboys execute their game plan when he comes on the field as a extra play maker. To me I can't see Fensom ousting anyone on the bench & will start the season in reserve grade.

That's nice depth for the CTR position
I'm starting with Smat and Idris in the centres, playing it safe, while everyone else takes the gamble on Talakai or another cheapie.

Last time I will post my team before TLT happens!

    Smith McInnes
    Fifita, Gurgess, Ese'ese, I-Papali'i
Surgess, ET, Sironen SiMat, Stimson, Capwell (whichever 2x 2RFs
    SJ, Lamb, Elgey, Field
    Idris, Kelly, Moga, MCK
    Tedesco, RTS, Hayne, Python, Burns

obvs will replace cheapies with those named round 1 and expected to continue to be named.
Ese'ese as a reserve is not ideal but McInnes second hooker should make up for that.

My theory behind Brailey - how many rounds will you be happy with him instead of a second gun hooker? How long do you think it'll take to upgrade?

I'm not confident I could upgrade him to a gun hooker soon enough for it to be viable.
EDIT: reasoning because without McInnes, I would run with McGuire in the second row and I see McInness outscoring him by about 5 points a round. I can make the cash elsewhere but I can't see me making back those missed points.

    Question:

    ET vs Kromwich

I am starting to think there's not quite the point of starting with ET after all. Will he make enough cash to be useful as an upgrade? I'm not sure. Will he be someone I want in my team at the end of the year? I don't think so.

Would I be better off going Kromwich and upgrading elsewhere? It's 70k saved but I would be losing points with Kromwich. Can't see him hitting consistent 50s...

not to diminish domestic violence but the eels PR team make it sound like a prank. has to be more behind the story.

not sure what it means fantasywise with vave round 2, terepo round 4 returning

    8. Suaia Matagi
    9. Kaysa Pritchard
    10. Tim Mannah (c)
    11. Manu Ma’u
    12. Tepai Moeroa
    13. Beau Scott (c)
    Interchange
    14. Nathan Brown
    15. Kenny Edwards
    16. Daniel Alvaro
    17. Frank Pritchard

this was the trial line up against the panthers. maybe edwards gets replaced with de gois/k.pritchard? could mean more mins for tepai/scott, but not enough to go on at this stage

yeah, i don't know what to make of it.

I prefer not to comment on these cases because most of the time the only people who will ever know the real truth of what happened are the ones that were there.

I know ET is a favourite on here but I just don't see the attraction. He plays 65-70 mins (av 63 mins in 2016) & you just know at some stage JT will use him at hooker where he scores virtually no points. Ballin & Liddle are both injured & McIllwrick will likely start the season. I know Ballin is in line to be on the bench for round 1 but how long does he last. There's just too much uncertainty with ET. For example we refrain from picking someone like T. Harris because we know if there's an injury in the backs he'll play in the backs. Why is ET any different with his potential to go to hooker. Like you Filth I'd much rather start with K-Brom/Afoa (if Bodene is out for a while).

If you are confident your other $138 players are going to make $$ then i can see your logic with not picking him.
Brailey is a $138 player who will most prob play 50 odd minutes tho, hard to pass up.

If you do pick Brailey though id make some tweaks so that you could get JDB/Mannering/Gallen rather than mcguire
