Not much love for Gillett, I can see him playing 80, defending Ben Hunt and running off the halves close to the line

Goodwin, Walker and Cook can all kick goals, I think Goodwin would be next in line, and I think Kelly will replace Reyno.

Pacey's Best wrote:Who would you choose as a 17th man FRF or 2RF ???
1. J.Ofahengaue
2. S.Lisone
3. L Pulu
Already have J.Brailey, F.Kaufusi and Sironen as 3 of my reserves.
Pulu probably plays more mins if he starts which could happen with all their injuries & looked quite good in the trial. I don't think 1 or 2 will start.

I have 5 & ET. I think you need at least 4-5 mate. It seems you have too many mid range players which could be risky if they don't go as expected.
I got 4 to 5:
Smith, Mannering, De Belin, Cartwright & if you will allow it, Cronk.
really light in the front row (Wallace & Faufusi + Hoare & Leota) and heavy in the Centres (Walker and Mata'uita)
The thing I like most though is the rotation that can occur if one of my bottom prices wingers disappoints I have 3 of these guys)
Could go something like this
Ponga > Gutherson > Cartwright > Chee-Kam > Mata, uita and then slipping in one of the bottom priced but will performing centres as a back up (Idris / Cotric)
This enables me to give Phythian, Ponga or Suli a go with little risk

you got elgey in your 17? those options are rough,
but maybe pulu cos of the injuries/retiring players at the titans
Yes, have Elgey as 18th.
I have J.Bromwich as FRF but can upgrade to Fifita and use Elgey as 17th man is an option.........

Just put together the most midrange team I could - captain, passable VC, 6 cheap NPRs (+ Elgey as 18th man) and then spread the rest as evenly as I could.
Smith, Brailey
Daifiti, JWH, Gurgess, Tetevano
Gillett, ET, Moeroa, Mata'utia, Wallace, Stimson
Maloney, Sezer, Lamb, Elgey
Gagai, Walker, Idris, Citric
Holmes, French, RTS, Phythian, Suki
Smith, Brailey

Gillett, ET, Moeroa, Mata'utia, Wallace, Stimson

Gillett has played the same role for years now, dont see where his improvement comes from.

Think I only have 3. Smith, James, DCE. Not at home right now so can't check.
Want to know if interested behind the pack or not.
3 doesn't seem like many lol
4 + ET. Is it okay though if those guns are Smith, Fifita, JDB and Mannering?

Slightly undervalued though. Numbers started to go down when the Broncos were struggling.

Anyone else going maverick & starting with TMM. I'm giving Lamb a miss. I just think the Panthers opening games will suit him.

I am on the TMM and SJ train WL... Was having this conversation with Welshy the other night. It has to be close to the riskiest halve combo out there but I ok with it.

Not being cheeky but who in that lot do you consider passable VC out of interest, because whoever you say, you are definitely rating them higher than I have them pegged

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 8
Just watching the news and the NRL are regestering D Taylors contract (didnt realise it hadnt been done). The fantasy relevant news is he has a 2 week suspension (as does Junior Paulo) for those looking at Raider forwards.
What really annoys me about this was Ricky Stuart crying during the week that there should be more salary cap concession for long term single team guys so that he wouldnt need to lose guys like E Lee and Fensom who had been right through their system. Come on dlck, you cant cry about salary cap pressure when you choose to release someone to sign a different player. Raiders could have kept both guys but choose not too, they wanted Taylor.

Me too mate. Yes Welshy is not a fan stats wise but his trial form has been very good.

Out of interest what did he score? Saying he did well in the trial doesn't mean much if it translated to 20-30pts

How are you mate? Back then i had 3 one after the other cos i kept forgetting email passwords i was 20valve, comegetsome then silvertop.
I started when arsen and ST were the kings so whats that, 4 seasons or longer? Its crazy to see you, aardvark, DK, Filth, shan, sash and a couple others that i cant remember right now still going solid. I think i even saw that rabbit.
I was never a big poster, liked reading and just throwing my 2 cents in now and then. Got my fantasy heart broken when Fantasy took over and never really recovered. Got sick of listing to that KFP ehen he was new lol. Went to the enemy in SC and wandered around last year. My workmates are saying that Fantasy went real decent last year so I might have another crack in 2017.
Bit old skool, my favourite seasons was where players like campese and soward could cover you in the halves and all you'd need was hindy, stagg, gallen and parker to take care of the middle. Chuck a couple forwards in your centres and you were decent lol. Ah those were the days. Anyways, good to be here here's hoping for a solid 2017 lol
Welcome back silvertop (aka getsomein)
If you are old school, does that mean you still play VSDT (The Real Dream Team)? If you do, there are still some spots left in the Latecomers League, so you would be more than welcome to join mate. (I don't play NRLF, still prefer the old VSDT.)

Yes you would think that C.Walker would benefit while ARey is out, even moreso if he gets the gk role.
