The $143k cash cow forwards could all forseeably make crap all between them. They'll get no game time and scores of 10-20.

And if you don't have guys making cash your initial team will need to be spot on inn every position or you'll fall behind

The only players currently in my 25 that I don't consider guns or cash makers are Yates and Fogarty. Fogarty is there for DPP value and a potential spot when Gutherson gets moved into the backs. Yates also for DPP and the chance that the Knights make some changes after a few losses. Not touching Stone, Papalii etc.

That would depend on the make up of the rest of your team.

Cant trust Wallace. Too many unknowns with the Titans. I will be using my remaining 40k to upgrade to Prior. Seems like a good POD

how do you avoid it though?

theres six bench positions from hok to 2rf, even if you're stacked up top with reserves you still have to have 2 x cheapies in there. The only other way to do it would be to spend $$$ on NPRs and have maybe frank winterstein and kaufusi (as NPRs) but then the rest of your squad would be weakened. (or youre just foregoing a gun somewhere)

This is the way I'm going. Make a few sacrifices in the starting team so that you can compete later in the year. If you only have 4 cash cows making 100k your 7.5 million salary cap isn't going to compete with the teams that hit 8 million before origin and can grab an extra gun for the run home. The 20 points a week you miss out on now is going to be offset by the extra 50 points a week you make during byes/after origin

McGuire already made more tackles and had more RM than Parker....He also made less errors

I just cannot see where the extra points come from for him to become elite or even score more than he did last year

    my thoughts exactly

What are people's thoughts on the Field/McCrone/McInnnes situation?

    I'm tossing up between

McInness and either Holmes (and play pthing or Cotric this week) or French
    OR
    Macca and TTrbo

    Which option to take?

edit: with option b I have the fateful sum of $0 left in the cap

    risk/reward i guess.

Foregoing a gun by making him a midranger (so you can afford the cash on NPRs) might mean on average 25 points less per week. In 10 weeks before origin that is 250 points behind just on one playing position.

Pretty sure i am settled on my team. any glaring issues you can see other than Brailey.
Am i better of with elgy in my 17 than brailey ?

    Smith / Brailey
    McGuire / D.Saifiti / Kaufusi / Leota
    JDB / Surgess / ET / S.Mat / Sironen / Yates
    Taylor / Lamb ; Elgey / Hingano
    Walker / Idris / Talakai / Kelly
    Hayne / RTS / Phythian / Holmes / Cotric

    $86K left to play with.
I was thinking of upgrading McQuire to Graham but not sure, i like having the extra money if Brailey fails and i can upgrade to Ballen later on.

Why run with Talakai when Kelly, Cotric, Scott, Suli are available at bottom $$$ ?

Do we expect Talakai to score better?

Yeah thats pretty much the long and the short of it.

Scott isn't named, Suli is a question mark. I would think if you have Talakai you already have Cotric/Kelly anyway.

Thats where you have to find mid rangers with upside. If everyone scored what they were priced at it wouldn't matter what team you picked. Most guns are at or above what they are going to average so they are going to stay stable or lose cash. EG Instead of running with JDB and Gallen you could choose to downgrade Gallen to ET for the 140k. Gallen is going to average somewhere around 56 points. ET is priced at 42.2 and going to average somewhere around 48-50

    REMINDER:

Get your team locked in well in advance because every man and his dog will be trying to tinker with their team last minute on the site and going on recent history, there's every chance you may not be able to make changes on the website or app in the hour leading up to kick-off due to Fanhub incompetence.
