On Musgrove if he plays well then he should keep Gurgess out. Also he could very well become the alpha prop in 2017. All I know about him is what I read on the Souths forum & they really rate him.

On Bolton if Scott is ruled out with his infected leg they said Hoare would start. Bolton would then be the senior prop for this game which might see him really put in a big one because he knows he has to stand up & lead from the front with Scott out.

Forgot about that. Back to the drawing board. Might take a punt on Musgrove.
Hold me accountable if need be, but after Smith he was one that I first pencilled in and willing to back my judgement on this one, only concern is injury but hey its Rugby League not tiddly winks.

Not sure he would keep Gurgess out but will retain his spot.
PS Maybe Rabs can chip in with his thoughts before kick off with a bit of luck.

Just read an interesting article on taupau mentioning that his focus has been cardio in the pre season and looking to play big minutes up on 64 last year, maybe pod

Parker, Merrin, JDB all posted low scores in first few rounds last year then went big.
Makes sense if you think about it. It takes 3-4 games to get match fitness & also you add the heat factor & game speed. So you won't see the 65+ scores for a couple of rounds & they'll be scoring mostly 50's.

I think Manly are not optimizing the strengths of Taupau. They should play him like Wests did. Play him at lock & for short sharp bursts totalling 45-55 mins. He'd do a much better job than that plodder J-Trbo who should be in the front row & then rotate to lock when Marty is having a rest.

With Scott in doubt, I'm probably just going to drop him and roll with Saifiti. Same price.
I could get KBrom instead of Saifiti, but prefer the latter.

Definitely a good idea, I think potentially Saifiti can turn close to a gun with 45+ scores. Where as I doubt Scott makes that jump.

Musgrove was also in my very first teams this year until he was missing in charity shield/etc.
Back in after TLT. Think he's worth a crack and just as much chance of doing well as the other higher priced mid range props.

Yes, he was impressive, and definitely has extra minutes in him already. The Taga correlation Milchy has pointed out a few times kept me away. I won't be considering him but yeah, he looked keen as fuck last night.
Thanks, so at this stage you would stick with Prior if you had him and see what happens. At least we know its only a three forward bench for a little while still. Kind of think Daniel Saifiti will go better due to tackle breaking ability.
Personally yes, base stats of 37 from 42 minutes in Round 1, he should only improve and looked likely close to the line a couple of times.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 11
Think I'm going to free up some cash for my Segeyaro/Moga fund as well as to upgrade my two nuffie FRFs so that I don't have to play both Brailey and Elgey in my 17 and so I'm improving the cash generation. Currently:
Smith Brailey
Fifita Faufusi Leota Papalli
JDB Surgess ET Smat Siro Yates
Norman Lamb Elgey Jacks
Walker Idris Kelly Suli
Turbo Hayne RTS Cotric Python 6k itb
Thinking:
Surgess -> KBrom
Leota-> Musgrove
Papalli -> Hoare
101k itb
Still gunnish enough I think but better depth and money making. Grateful for opinions. And also which two of Faufusi, Elgey, Musgrove to play this week?

And for those of you going to the Bulldogs game tonight.
Remember to get there early, in case the other 4 men and their dog also attending a game in this shitty time slot get there first and take the best seat.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 11
Its going to really suck for people trying to get to the 6pm game, especially in Sydney. Traffic will be a nightmare and for those that finish work at 5pm its probably a 'don't even bother' situation.
Thankfully for me, the Broncos being the Broncos, always get the later game which means plenty of time for lubricants on Caxton St.
For a fan watching on TV though, two games back to back on Friday night is awesome.
