Welshy wrote:Mary basically been quoted as saying JDB would of played 80 had the game been close. Good to hear going forward.
Makes him a good captaincy option.
I know smith will bounce back but with mcinnes playing 80 even with field on the bench makes ditching smith to upgrade a mid ranger very tempting

Cowboys Raiders was great to watch as a neutral, game of the round so far. Taumalolo was incredible almost ran for 300m against a big pack.

Agree with everything bar the big pack comment. Its one that Scott and the media kept making, but Lima, Bateman, Priest, Lui are hardly big. Our normal pack would be quite big, but that would include Paulo and Dave Taylor as well as Whitehead (who wasn't apart of the pack obviously out at ctr). Anyway, wasn't really the point you were making, Lolo was still immense (what a freak) and it was still a fantastic game.Scouter wrote:Cowboys Raiders was great to watch as a neutral, game of the round so far. 425/9. Not looking great. SMat, Saifiti, Siro, Lamb, SJ, Kelly, RTS and Turbo to come. Had none of the big scorers. Surprised Carty got a 41 though.
Still tossing up to go SJ or Norman.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 13
Jarrod Wallace coming in will be my first trade in for Prior.
Other than that I'm hoping my two gun halves of SJ and Norman fire to make up for not having JDB or Teddy.
No premium gun halves have really fired yet, and you would expect that Keary, Widdop, Milford, Reynolds won't hit 50+ very often. Walker is the only gun half to hit 50 so far.
If JDB is going to be playing 80 he needs to come in by round 3. I don't have the cash at this stage without doing a double trade, but I will prioritise Wallace first.
Also I wonder if Mary sees any sense in putting Luciano Leilua/Masoe or another forward on the bench other than Field, which could mean that JDB doesn't need to play 80. That quote could have been in reference to vs Panthers as they had Field on the bench. But yeah personally if I was Mary I would be playing with 35-45 mins each for the four front row rotation, Host or Leilua as cover for Frizzell and then have Kurt Mann on the bench instead of Field.
Not sure whether Gordon/Mitchell are worth putting in, won't play a team as shit as the Titans were in that first half all season.
Pretty poor 452/9 at this stage for me but have Johnson, Norman, Turbo, Walker, Siro, Sione, RTS as starters and 1 reserve to play (either Frankenstein/Kelly).

JDB playing 80 is going to kill it but not worth a double trade from Gallen. I'm gonna have to sit tight and death ride JDB. So far no trades for me this week. Expecting Mannering to score 70 and compound my decision to get Gallen over JDB/Mannering

Cotric has replaced Lee on the wing and will remain there all year unless injury or he has a run of very bad form. I don't see that happening so he is pretty safe for me, but is clearly a centre and not a winger if he can't run away from Thurston and score. Should average around 30+

Do you have Wallace? I would gladly trade any gun second rower to JDB and do it fast. Worth the two trades in my eyes.
Then bring back Gallen/Surgess closer to origin once siro/matautia/kaufusi etc have peaked.
Sadly I don't have anyone in the second row priced higher than ET. Will give ET another week.
Another guy I reckon that could be a cut price JDB I might target instead is Finucane, he should be getting 80 now and could average close to 60 for the next few weeks. Might be worth the investment if you can't splash the cash for JDB. Any takers on Finucane?
Apparently we should have about a month without Bromwich.

I think I'd prioritize Musgrove over Wallace. I think Musgroves game was more accurate on what he will do this year while Wallace I'd wait a week on his minutes. He only scored 13/14 in his first 22 min then come back on late first half and played the game out

Very. He was training at wing and it looks like he's eddies replacement. Turner is depth/versatility. Once Croker comes back i imagine Cotric keeps the wing outside him, which can only be good. Can't wait to see what he does then.pm888 wrote:how likely is cotric to remain in the team with turner there as well?

Already got Wallace
Got all the successful cows so far so would be trading out one of my successful cows to one that isn't working or is a gamble. It's tough to make that kind of move trading out a gun and a money maker early for another gun. Cotric 36, Suli 52, Jacks 41, Elgey 26, Kaufusi 43 currently in my NPR with Musgrove Jwal KBrom Talakai Brailey in the 17

Updated to 486/10. Sione, Sironen, SJ, Lamb, Kelly, Gutherson & RTS to play.
lol my highest scorer is Wallace beating the scores of Smith, Fifita, Gallen, Surgess & ET. I'm definitely going Surgess to JDB in round 2 but it will require a double trade.

666/12 with Dafiti Afoa Sironen Lamb and RTS to go.
Cleary was a disappointment. Took him over SJ as one of my final changes. Last change was Musgrove to Sironen. Might regret that one too.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 13
I believe he's played Ctr and Fullback for Aus so I think its fine to play him on the wing. FB/Wing isn't all about speed. Positioning, strength, football brain etc he see to possesses enough to offset speed but I also think its a bit unfair on JT to call him slow. The thing that makes Thurston so good is his competitive nature and how often he winds up being in positions like that in which he has no right to be. Legend.Warriors wrote:

Not sure I agree with this at all, although you could be right.
For me, my doubts are:
1. Wallace will get 50+ minutes every week, Neil Henry said he will be "relied upon to play big minutes for us".
2. McGuire is Musgrove's coach, even though he was their best prop he might be out of the side at any stage (job security).
e.g. Turner to lock, Chricton to second row and Surgess to front row could happen, and suddenly Musgrove could be only getting 30-35 minutes.
I think this would actually be better for the Rabbits. Chricton is a gun, and surgess can just concentrate on not being fancy and just run hard and tackle hard.

Yeah I agree, as I was writing my opinion I was thinking that thurston is pretty fast, but yeah I would expect 80% of wingers in the nrl to have run away and scored that. In saying that, I thought Cotric was very good, and was in the Mansour/Aitken mould. Will be a very good fantasy scorer.

Excellent scoring mate. Jealous that you have Bunty too. I went with KBrom over him in the end
