Gagai gone. Compound fracture to his finger. Needs surgery and will be out for about a month. If it's to be believed.

But it does blow up the myth that Qld is more loyal than NSW, that seriously is a massive myth. It's a LOT easier to be loyal when you are winning constantly but nobody north of the border seems to have acknowledged this.  Just look at the changes Qld made to their Origin sides when there were getting beaten.......if anyone can remember that far back........

    2002 - 2005.
    QLD used 46 players
    NSW used 45 players

So in the time when we went 0-3-1, we used just 1 extra player then a team who went 3-0-1.

    Loyalty.

The QLD loyalty doesn't mean they pick and stick with every single person that has pulled on a jersey.

While I think it's a huge wankfest that they claim loyalty it's not for the reasons you're banging on about. At some stage they have to drop guys who are getting too old.

NSW give someone one game sometime and that's it, QLD have been lucky that they could pick and stick because they were winning. The QLD loyalty debate wouldn't even be around if Hodgson didn't throw that moronic fucking pass that Lockyer scored with. That would have been 4 series straight, the talk around the time was Petreo/Price/Lockyer were all to be moved on to get new blood in - and then look what happened.

They've remained the same because they have won, we've had to change because we haven't. In the end QLD loyalty is dropping now and will continue to should they lose and keep losing.

Whilst it was certainly refreshing to see a fellow NSWelshman call out Piehead's moronic simpletonism.....you are still fairly off the mark with your other comments.

The QLD loyalty phenomenon was born well before the 'dynasty' that you poor, downtrodden battlers can't remember beyond....which to be honest, is probably understandable and may actually be some sort of coping mechanism.

It started and was even more prevalent during the 80's, with about 60% more NSWelshman picked compared to QLDers.
Additionally (and despite the recent landslide of victories over the last decade), it has actually levelled out a bit to a (still significant) 40%.

So I think it's fair to say that QLD loyalty is well and truly a fact and furthermore it quite clearly (and unfortunately for you blokes) has little to do with whether we are winning or losing.

its more of a myth than peter pan.

Its a fucking fairy tail QLDers tell each other to make themselves feel better about being inferior to NSW in every other aspect of life and land. They try and spruke it to each other because of their little brother syndrome to make themselves sound better than what they are. It is indisputable that QLD is NSW little brother.

They got beaten in game 1 last year, made mass changes without giving their players a chance to make up for it.

They made changes again, dropping blokes who have got the job done in the past without giving them a chance prove that they are still up to it. That is the absolute definition of being disloyal. Absolute QLD legends like boyd, Thiaday (born in sydney) and scott.

They continue to pick a bloke who is ineligible for QLD - and have made him the captain. How about that, the best player in the QLD side is born and raised in NSW - and is literally ineligible for the QLD side. Amazing.

They had a great run with some of the greatest players of all time playing at the same time, they didnt have to make changes for the last 15 years or so because success breeds "loyalty".

If you want to talk loyalty, NSW should be lauded for continuing to pick mitch pearce. Thats fucking loyalty.

Mal Meninga and the rest of Queensland still have a good chuckle that the media and NSW still believe that good old yarn he spun. Drop Lockyer in 2006, good one. Lol Lol

No wonder we keep dropping stories about the flu going through camp each year, you still all believe that old one.

Little extra motivation for the boys. Can't have the likes of JT, Lockyer, Petro etc retire, or have legends like Beetson every year.

Will Kevvie survive if QLD lose the series ? He doesn't really have a resume to speak of and was gifted a side who told him what they would be doing. Now he needs to actually select players, get them to gel and coach them. It could be a house of cards. What's Hagan doing and why was he over looked when Mal retired ?
