Could he really though?  He had an alright game first up then got dropped after being named at centre an hour before kickoff.  The whole thing seems a bit too iffy and Madge obviously doesn't rate him or something.

Supposedly he got dropped for bad defence but Rennings was worse only they were against a rubbish Manly side

Jennings was fine in defence. The lapses were due to Goodwin coming in when he shouldn't have.

Talakai must of done something right in the pre season to start in round 1.

He is named at 18th man this week and is not listed as yet for Norths, he's obviously still in contention.

I think Rennings has about as much job security as Talakai did two weeks ago at this point.

But saying that, Jennings I guess offered more in attack for them. I don't see Talakai coming back unless injury. Might just trade him for Abbey and bank the cash.

Not wishing injury upon anyone but I'd be happy if RTS is out.
My WFB, pre trades, is TTurbo, RTS, Hayne, Ponga and Cotric.

Ponga will score 7 tries v Manly and Cotric could easily carve up against the Tigers at home.

No trades for me this week, at this stage.

Jeez i hope Ponga does nothing fantasy points wise. Not because I dislike him, and nothing against anyone here that has him. But I don't need my casual mates going on and on about it for the next week.

HOK: I would love to hear your thoughts re Kaysa as I am running with him at the moment. A lot of potential there with 80 minutes and the fact he likes to tackle. Couple that with decent byes he should be a hold throughout most of the Origin period, however he would have peaked by then.

FRF: Matagi scored a lot closer to what I expected of him at the start of the season. What are you expecting from Matagi? Again great byes being an Eels player however if he scores 30 points on average he will peak around $270k by Round 7 and then in the 5 rounds it takes to get to Origin he will only make $10k which isn't great for someone taking up so much money and being a part of your 17 long term. Do you expect better than a 30 point average, or are you going to miss out on his upside re byes and trade him sooner. Musgrove could potentially be hurt by G. Burgess and end up in the same position as Matagi. Although I have him as well I am taking a wait and see approach on him.

2RF: No problems, you know who the guns are and who the cows are.

HLF: Risky not trading Carty this week if his injury is a problem again. However if he can get a consistent score it should be fine. He is carrying a BE of 81 so unless he hits his keeper status again this year it could really bleed cash from your team. Although I understand wanting to see how he pulls up from injury considering the other pressing trades to make.

CTR: No real issues everyone has these players.

WFB: Looking extremely thin and this is after you made some trades to try and fix up this position. I am not sold on Abbey, he may get goal kicking but I could also see him under performing and being out of the side in 3-4 weeks. Which makes it hard to see how he makes enough cash to warrant a trade in and then out. He may get some time through the Origin period but I do see him as a risk.

Abbey looks the least risky of a risky bunch

Talakai is too slow for the backs and too small for a forward. He has utility written all over him, but Cook has that role. Jennings has the centre spot to lose and I don't think he will. Also, I expect Tom Burgess to replace Clarke this week.

So with Taumalolo gone for two weeks does Hess start for those two weeks or does Fensom come into the side?

I agree with this plus potential gk. He's guaranteed at least 4-5 games whereas a lot of the other cow's have less. I think the Bulldogs v Warriors game will be close but high scoring so Abbey has a good chance to shine.

I was on TRD last night as at the time had good long term job security (even when Don returned he was no certainty to go straight back in) all that changed when the Titans signed Copely. Copely may cover Zillman or Sarginson this week but next week if both fit it will be TRD on the chopping block.

Abbey i need to have a look at and he is likely to be around for only 4 weeks. Idris is due back next week and while he hasnt been starting he has scored ok in his time on the field.

I think you are better off upgrading Hayne if trading him out. All your forwards are pretty set making money or scoring points so i think your only trade out option is Cartwright. Cartwright to Lamb gives you 130K plus whatever cash you have to make upgrades. Lamb has a good floor but his ceiling isnt as high as Cartwright, the problem with Cartwright is he has gotten less touches in the backrow compared to last year and is having to make (and therefor miss) more tackles. I feel there are better points per $ players in the halves.

Making trades... bringing in Chess and BraBBey and putting some money in the bank for JBrom and Whitehead upgrades after round 5.

Not having Norman play is going to hurt a bit, but I do have Gutherson who might produce some extra points without Norman.

Still holding onto Jacks (Slater might be in and out this season)

A majority are saying Lowe to lock Hess to backrow but imo a middle forward will be a direct replacement for Lolo, maybe Fensom. When he comes back i think the last bench spot becomes a race between Fensom and Hoare with no idea which way it will fall.

I have both Hess and Fensom in my draft squad and I don't know which one to play this week Laughing
