To me there is not much if any downside. You use 1 trade extra than going straight to gun. However you do get that value back. With the common perception a trade is worth 100k, he will make you minimum 50k worst case scenario. However that doesnt factor in his extra scoring. For me he is in starting 17 instead of kelly. 12 points extra in average you would reckon in hess's favor. Every point scored over a season is worth about $395. So for you to get your 100k worth just ask yourself, will running hess score you an extra 125 points playing in your 17 during the time it would of taken you to scrounge the money to upgrade someone else.
Honestly its probably borderline, but if he picks up more minutes for a 45 average or even jags 1 big game in the next couple of weeks for a bogger price bump cou come out ahead and are laughing.
