Or i guess you could go with the original plan, wasn't it with Walker at the back and Johnson at wing with Goodwin centre? I didn't see what was so wrong with that idea.

Bloke is that talented he could just about play anywhere, but 1 or 6 gives him that extra space. I baulked at his price pre-season so don't have him; he should have been one of the first we all made room for.

Too far away from the ball, if anything Souths want to give him the ball more he is outstandingArcher wrote:I admit i didn't get to hear todays game as i was in meetings but what about Walker at CTR with Sutton back in the halves? Edit: Also no idea how he'd go in 1 on 1 D, probably terrible, just assumed his pace might help him a bit.

Johnny B Goode wrote:What time do the teams have to name their 19 man squad by? Will the Sharks name theirs before the Knights take the field? Capewell staying at centre would make him worth a risk to me and determines what to do with Sione. If Beale looks likely to take his spot back then got to change plans.
Sharks injury report from today said that the entire squad is fit for selection except Mortimer, so whichever team plays this weekend should technically be the strongest team (though I will only agree with that if Val is at fullback, and I don't think Segey will play). So if Capewell starts his job security is looking slightly better.
The updated 19 man list might help you tomorrow.
Though I'm still not convinced with Capewell, even if he plays this week. Too risky with too many other guys hanging around. Neither Beale nor Edrick have been named for Newtown. But Newtown's final team lists at 2pm on Saturday might give you some more clues.
As I've said, if you want him as a cash out that will play 2 bye rounds, go nuts. If you are needing him for points and/or significant cash making, beware.

Even with him going to Centre I think most of us will play SMat, decent depth if you can rest him.

Yeah both fair calls @SI & @Welshy, i guess i thought he could always come slightly infield a bit with a 2nd rower outside him like we saw BJ do with Whitehead a few times last week and he wouldn't be too dissimilar to what Manly did with Lyon. Then i realised i was overthinking it and the easier fix would be to slot him in at 1.

keep him at 6, even at 1 he could get starved of the ballArcher wrote:Yeah both fair calls @SI & @Welshy, i guess i thought he could always come slightly infield a bit with a 2nd rower outside him like we saw BJ do with Whitehead a few times last week and he wouldn't be too dissimilar to what Manly did with Lyon. He attracts players when playing in the middle of the park, yes he gets more 1 on ones with outside backs if he was coming into the line wider from FB but he is strong enough to keep the edge forwards off him in the middle and put through his own backrowers
Not so much today but Sutto and Walker looks a cracking combo on the left for Souths

I think he'd be overthinking it as well; bloke just needs the ball in a bit of space so he can decide whether to run or to pass or to kick.

The more running 5/8's the better; fantastic to see the game moving back to it.
