With Te Maire Martin to make his return in the Intrust Super Premiership on Sunday the right halves combination is still to be proven but Bennett was adamant that a late flurry from the opposition will do little for their confidence moving forward.

Don't get me wrong, I think he is a great player, but to me he's not a hit and stick defensive second rower, he's a worker, someone who makes the tackle eventually on the second attempt after being slipped for an extra 3 metres, his speed and fitness makes up for it, is very strong so can throw players off, I just see him as a more attacking player than the "BEST" defensive second rower in the game. IRL is very good, just not consistent for fantasy gun because of missed tackles.

Another player I kind of liken him to (different position) is Jack Bird. I've heard people say Bird is great defensively, but if you watch the game and look at his stats he falls off a lot of tackles, but breaks a lot also. Just not a good pick for fantasy.

I agree. Gillett Is a quality player and deserves his selections in rep games etc. But if he played for a crap team, he wouldn't look as good. Busting his guts works at the broncos, because he can miss tackles on first attempt, then easily make second attempt because the broncos have a solid defensive structure. Would be a different story at the knights or tigers.

In a similar sense, Crokers defensive stats have improved massively. I think this has more to do with Papalli on his inside than his tackling ability, still misses a few first attempts but is there for a second attempt.

This isn't me saying Croker and Gillett aren't gun players, just a reflection of personal stats being largely influenced by the players around them.

NRL.com late mail. I think I could come up with late mail better than this.

Says Manu a chance, so TWG might not even get a run.

Says Pauli, King and Randall could come in for a shuffle at the Knights.

As WL said, that is a great read, this is a great point of view:

"Imagine if your job performance was filmed, broadcast on national TV, and every perceived error critiqued by anyone with a keyboard, and then you’re expected come back for more next week."

If that was the case I'd be fucked! I understand they choose the #RefLife, but aside from a couple of onfield howlers, the officiating onfield and from The Bunker has been decent.

There was a rumor, but Griffin came out and squashed it. But then he was saying he has a neck injury but this article saying he's playing reserve grade. Doesn't add up. Griffin might like Carty at 6 and I'll get him back in if he gets that gig long term. Also moves CHN only one behind Harris. Although Peachy was the one that filled that second row spot last night once CHN went off.

I've gone NuBrown personally, byes tipped me in his favour. If he does get some decent game time it's a bonus. I don't expect him to be a shitty AE later on either.

Maybe Manu will be taking Maumalo spot on the other wing.

Yes I do think Griffin likes Carty at 6, last season that worked a treat.
Peachey was coming back from some niggling injury too

I've got CHN and Yates as my reserves this week, and I need to upgrade to get a solid 17 instead of playing fantasy roulette with the Tulip... with 193k ITB I could bring in another gun...
I was looking at Gal... but he might do a " Batman returns"

Fantasy and Dream Team both use ProZone.

Supercoach uses Fox stats, but the SC community complains about their stats more than Fantasy gives it to ProZone, so not sure that is an improvement.

NRLCEO and Ultimate League both use champion data.
They only run draft style comps and no overall. Don't follow either closely enough to know feelings on champion data. Champion did Fantasy stats back in 2014.

No legitimate comp would use NRLStats these days. They are nowhere near timely enough. Probably a few guys running private comps using their stats here and there.

I read that Milf got 8 TBs in SC, is that right?
